    Steps

Hi all, been lurking around and looking at people's gorgeous sketchbooks for a while now, and I decided to start one to chronicle my stuff from a few years ago to now.
    -----------------------------------------------------------
Art is posted from oldest to newest; oldest on top, newest at the bottom. All entirely chronological.

    2-3 years ago

I'm aware that the anatomy is not entirely accurate, hehe. And now for the attack of the anime stuff! Omg! Run!

I totally realize his pants are too tight.

Experiment using a lightbox ("omg who invented these?"). That's why it's so plain.

    Some designs for kingdom crests.

I'm also well aware that the bottom part looks like a vagina. Moving right along.....

I'll be scanning some stuff from last year tonight!

hm I'm going to take a wild guess and say you love horses the horses are well drawn but the head is a bit small on a couple of them. The last one and the one done with what looks like color pencils are really nice the creatures are nicely done too. Can't say much on anatomy until the more recent stuff is posted.

    More:

Was trying acrylics for the first time.

    Figure gestures and drawings:
Some of these look a little odd or unusually cropped because they're drawn on a big sketchpad and I had to fit them into my tiny scanner.

    Your horses are pretty amazing!
There is so much life to them!

Class assignment for an illustration for the New York Times cover. There are some issues with Bush's jawline. The composition isn't the best either. But I learnt a lot about characterization. Acrylics. I think I am getting more comfortable with them.

Just to get my feet wet into digital painting again. Self-portrait, drawn/painted in PS CS2. From life. Gonna try and do more. Obviously I need to learn how to blend better digitally But I was mostly having fun with this one.

    I was almost done with this painting when I realized the reason I was having so much trouble painting was because the pressure settings were wrong for my tablet. -_-;

I don't like this piece much.

reallly nice sketchbook....especially the horses. in your figure drawings play with your line wieght. make the line thicker/darker for areas of the figure you want to emphasize and make the lines thinner/lighter for areas you want to de-emphasize. awsome start so far

    More stuff

    Finished reindeer painting, PS.

PS, fanart piece for a contest. Even though there are problems with the lighting I am happy with my progress with technique... this is 100% scale so for once I don't feel like I have to scale the image down to 'hide' the uglies in my painting

    Cartoony sketches

Complete incomplete drawing (fanart again)... no plans to finish the pencilwork for personal reasons

Quick observation studies of objects, was working on getting proportions right since that seems to be my achilles' heel; something is always too long or too short..
