Woodlandwalker mentioned a topic for Halloween...so thanx for the hint!
Though i have no clue when exactly Halloween starts, it must be some time like...errr....now?
Here some help for members who don't get the topic:
"Trick or Treat" is what disguised kiddies say at Halloween when they ring a houses bell and the owner opens the door. Which means they want some sweeties to eat, otherwise they will trick the person. So:
Create a creature which eats sweeties but can be quite nasty when it doesn't get what it wants...please no door ringing creatures!!!

chweetoofs (pronounced sweet tooths):
known to be extremely deceptive in their quest for the decidedly sweet,
the chweetoofs do whatever they can to get their just deserts.
lurking in bushes, alleyways and trees,
they wait for the happy go lucky trick or treaters that happen by.
using their many 'arms' they stretch out to snag candy by the bag full with sticky 'fingers'.
once their bounty is consumed, they retreat into the darkness
giggling madly until they have a sugar crash in their dens.

Hey Joey, thats the nicest thing anyone has said to me all week... but i should tell you... as I progressed I did start breaking the rules of the tut...
which I think makes sense, because as the picture progresses its going to need more than just transparent darks and opaque lights... however, the whole duplicate, paint, erase, flatten, repeat bit works like a charm... I dunno why I never did it before. After finishing that painting, all I could think about was all the other times I wish I had known that trick... Creek Crawler... Highly Explosive... it would have really helped all of them out...

Sorry its rather large, couldn't get the details any other way. My Computer died the instant i had saved the jpg. for it. unfortunatly it was the one for deviantart, complete with watermark so please ignore it. So without redoing alot of it it will have to stay like this.

The Halloweendragon is benign creature with a weakness for sweets. It is dormant for most of the year. Around Halloween it awakes and forms a symbiotic relation with a child, usually of very young age. Because of their young age, and because of the friendlyness of the Halloween dragon, the children are often not afraid of these dragons. The creatures benefits from this relation by getting a share in the sweets and the child benefits by scaring the adults into giving lots and lots of candy. Once the host child becomes to old for halloween, they seek out a new partner in "crime". Often desperate Halloween dragons without host are found raiding sweet shops.

I have my idea. It's sort of an alien raccoon/tree porcupine creature with a brightly-colored face to intimidate predators. Like many creatures, it has grown used to accepting snacks from human tourists. It has a particular fondness for sweets. Seeing these creatures' enjoyment of candy, visitors of course gave them more and more candy. Now, the critters are all sugar addicts, and tend to get rather pushy when no sugary snacks are offered. This involves opening their rather gruesome mouths very wide and waving their multiple tongues; this is their way of saying, "Feed me, Seymour!" It's often a frightening spectacle for tourists, even though the creatures are basically harmless. Park rangers have outlawed the practice of giving candy to wildlife in order to subdue this behavior.
Sketches coming soon. I'm doing EoW this week as well, so my creature probably won't be pictured in an intricate scene.
Edit: dragon4lunch- I posted a WIP in my sketchbook that I think you'll be happy to see.

The Sugar Dragon
The sugar dragon won't eat you
If it get what it wants
Other sweets as well
It will behave and be
And leave granny alone
But if it doesn't get
Or other sweets as well
Its dark side prefers
Flesh, bones, soul
It won't ask twice

Just got on today after thinking this thru over the weekend and wanted to post my idea... didnt want anyone to think I was copying... Einen ...mine also has two "heads" of sorts... here is the story line.
Take heed children for the sugar lord, Khan-die the Prince of Sweets is once again on the loose. Normally a happy creature comprised mostly of a sugary like substance having the consistency of taffy, or chewed gum, glowing internally with bits of candy stuck about its surface. It creeps the streets looking for candy from unsuspecting children, (adults chew sugar free gum which it cannot stand). Halloween is its favorite time of the year as treats are plentiful and ripe for the picking. Like all beings hyped up on sugar this creature is no different. Happy one minute, angry the next, it has taken things to the next level by torturing its own split personality. One half keeps all the candy for itself to gorge upon, while its other “half” screams and pounds its “brother” having murderous thoughts all the while unbeknownst to him still benefiting from the ingestion of the sugary substances. Rolls reverse every hour or so, making it difficult to diagnose what psychotic ailment this creature really suffers from.
No Wacom... all mouse and pencil... sorry if it upsets anyone one...

TRICK OR TREAT!
A Lorath survives on sugar. These creatures survive in the dark shadows, only coming out at night. They feed on sugar and will not harm anything unless it comes between them and sugar. His black appearance is to blend in with the night, and he preys on innocent children on Halloween night to retrieve their candy.
I love Halloween, and can't wait to see all the entries!
