Thingies. (some of them are nude
You should go to the end, because this stuff is old as hell.
Wanted to redo my sketchbook, with more actual sketches. Just graduated from SCAD and this is the only contact with artists I have right now...so please riddle this with critiques, if you please. I know I'm not the greatest ever, but I hope to be there some day...oh yes...
I'm a comic artist, and I have tons to learn, so be prepared. Yeah.

It was recently brought to my attention that I had no women in my portfolio...and I want more creatures in it...so I'm gonna kill two birds with one stone, as soon as I master the female figure.
I know the legs/calves are way too meaty, and I'm gonna make the hands and feet smaller too...but feel free to bestow female-drawing knowlege.
Keep in mind they're warriors, so I was trying to make them look beefy...
I'm gonna draw one of these (the first one probably), along with backgrounds and whatnot.
BG: Incan/Greek-ish temple. Will extend to include entire creature-thing.
BG: Outside. Somewhere. With mountains.

hey, godd start for a sketchbook!
i really like the war elephant design and the alien design in post 7.About the colours tho, try and work in a more subtle way and study from life, some of these (i'm thinking about he war elephant especially) would look great with some rought B/W values. You should check out markers.
Anyway, nice sense of graphic design, but keep working on anatomy
keep it updated!

Very nice! I especially dig the compositions of the three starting with the armored guy on a horse. I would love to see the elephant finished up similarly.
I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Started this thingie. Ever since I started learning to draw armor and such, I've had a boner for cataphracts...but I'm still learning to draw armor. If anything screams wrong at you, kill it with a comment.
Oh, there will be a background. No worries.
