Cooler than Thundercats, have you seen it?

    Galaxy Rangers intro

Just found this on youtube. I grew up in trinidad and tobago, and I remember this show was the shit. Watching this just gave me the biggest childhood flashback ever. Now that I live in the us, nobody I talk to cept for one guy has ever seen this awesome cartoon. Man, they really don't put the effort into these shows like they used to ( 1987-88 ).

Anybody remember it? The blonde dude at the end is Goose or the Gooseman. He wa the coolest.

Yeah, I remember it too, but not as much. I think I used to see it in spanish, along with Thundercats and Transformers, in spanish also. I thought that was the shit. Now I look back and realize the spanish voice overs were pretty awful lol. Great animation, though. Too bad cartoons today are so PC.

Yeah I loved that show too. I think it was only a season long. It looks like the same crew that did The Mighty Orbots. That was another one of my favs...which didn't last.

Swat Cats was in the early 90's I think. But that generations kids will be talking about those shows like we are about he man I guess. If you really grew up in the 80's you'll remember these.

The Comic Strip: Tigersharks, Street Frogs, Karate Kat etc

Dino Riders, Kidd Video oh man so many of these were lame at the time, but now kinda nostalgic.

Ahahaha, nooooo I can't watch it the same way now hahahaha rangerzzzzzz!!!

Here's my breakdown, personal top five

    Transformers
    - i cried like a bitch when they killed optimus in the movie though
Ninja Turtles - new show can't hold a candle to this
HeMan - battlecat was the coolest thing ever, I still want one. Wonder if Marko had a redesign for him too
Galaxy Rangers - gooseman, what a pimp
Thundercats - best intro to any 80's cartoon period

Haven't seen ERGO PROXY, but I'll check it out now.

This one's new to me, but I see it came out in 84 and I was born in 84 so go figure. When I have some money to burn, I think I'll go nuts and make a nice collection of all this cool old stuff.

I remember this show as well but i don't think I watched it .
I think it was one of th first Us tv shows made for the US in Japan or other countries. Anime Fandom was still in the age of people getting copies from friends and people sharing what we had. I think the Mighty Orbots was the first full animated show made for the US and not shown in Japan but a different version was.

Like the Trasformer the concept was from the US not Japan. Hasbro took the Transformer from toy line it had just bought from japan and took the idea from stop motion annmation TV ad of the toys.

As these show filer back to Japan at frist they were not liked and later some became fans so more were made. The Ranger didn't catch on there but ran here for a bit and a few other countries then faded out.

As the 80's ended Anime was taking a step forward from the year of re-dubbing and hack edting to become what it today. But I would say show like this did set the stage for anime fandom to grow.

I grew up watch all the shows from Japan in the 60's then again in the 70's and 80's and current and I have work with one of the comapnies that traslate aniime doing sales and promoting anime fandom.
It is good to see the animation of the past to learn to from and honor as this was done with the same high hope as and art is done . for other to enjoy .
