Hi, I'm real noob here, with a quick question.

I'm an artist and just signed up with a great team in the non-pay section, the thread titled "Indie cyberpunk game looking for artist", I started posting some of my concepts in the thread to help attract interest, and some dude posted an ad for his runescape money in our thread. Is he allowed to do that, or will a moderator take it out if they come across it?

At the top of every post is a black and white triangle with an exclamation point in it. Click on that and it will send a message to the mods and they will come and remove the post.

A banner should pop up asking you if you want to edit your gallery. This does not always show up for me, though.

Or, you can go to the main page (www.conceptart.org) and click on "Edit" which should be right between "Forums" and "Gallery."

About the gallery feature, does one have to be of a certain caliber/skill level to create one as with the Finally Finished and Critique Center forums? If I were to make one would it be acceptable to start with finished pieces already in my sketchbook and should I upload works as I finish them to one or the other or both?

    i've got a question.

i cant seem to see any of the galleries except the ones on the main page. it just shows up blank on my com. i used a friend's mac and it seem to work. is it because i have not updated my ie...? or it's some flash thingy i did not install...?

EDIT: OKAY IT WORKS WHEN I USED THE LATEST VERSION OF FIREFOX. WHEEE!!

Sorry for asking this total N00B question but... is there a description of the Categories we have to choose from when uploading images? I'm a little confused by some of them... I did a search but couldn't find the answer to my specific questions.

    Thanks!

Havent posted in over a year, and can't seem to figure out how to edit my posts so that my text is in between my images or wherever i want them. Went I upload my images, nothing appears in the text box so i have no idea where my images are going to be placed. Did that make any sense? Maybe its just a glitch or the computer I'm using. blah, any thoughts? thanks

(also, for such a big site, doesn't the program for posting that CA uses seem kind of crappy? time for an update i think)

I've been searching the site for 10 or 15 minutes now and haven't found an answer yet, so I guess it's justifiable to ask now. Is there any way to change the thumbnail for a thread I've posted? Specifically, for my sketchbook thread. I know that normally the thumbnail is of the first attachment in the thread, but it seems like some other artists have different thumbnails.

    Thanks in advance!

Shannanigan, I do not think we have a description of the categories listed anywhere.

Swecks, after you upload your attachments, click on the paperclip button again. A drop down menu will appear that lists all of your attachments. Select one and the appropriate code will be inserted into your post. That is how you insert images within your text.

Cacodaemonia, the thumbnail is always created from the first attachment in the thread. If people have something different, it's because they are hosting some of the images somewhere else.

Blast! I should have thought of that when I was uploading the files. Is it possible to remove one or two in order to have a slightly more interesting sketch as the thumbnail? Thanks for the response!

I'm sorry can you be more specific? Your monitor settings? An image you're uploading?

Cacodaemonia, yes, if you edit your post and hit "Go Advanced" and then under the post hit "Manage Attachments" you can remove images.

Some people remove all the images and then re-upload whatever image they want to be the thumbnail.

hey guys, quick question -- i tried posting a thread in the "it's finally finished" subforum, and i've been checking that section and also the general critiques section to see where the thread ended up. it's been a couple of hours and there's no sign of the thread -- should i keep waiting or try posting the thread again? is this normal?

I'm new to concept art and a little lost.... I came across a thread of winners for Photo challenges, but can't find anything about current challenges. Are those still going? Why isn't it listed on the home page with the CHOW and COW etc.? Thanks!

    Hello,

I seem to be having thumbnail problems and I'm not entirely sure why. I had a problem with uploading images into the thread to begin with but that's sorted (I've just linked them to another place I uploaded them to). I've also attached a little thumbnail image to the thread which I'm gathering should appear as a thumbnail, but it isn't?

The attachments also seem to be listed as 8, even though only the one thumbnail I uploaded is visible. I have a feeling I've done something terribly wrong and some help would be very much appreciated.

    Thanks

I've done a 14 hour day today. I need a flip-top head to deal with the way I'm yawning, and I dunno when I'll find the energy to get out of this seat and go to bed, so, excuse me if I'm posting in the wrong place.... but I see a real time thing against some threads. What is that for?

How do you insert (embed) video into a forum post, such as from youtube?

    Nevermind, I figured it out.

    Heyo

just got into using the gallery feature on here, but the limits are a little restricting (200kb / 800 X 800)

is there a trick to uploading something larger than 3'X4' at 200 kb?
been fooling around in photoshop but nothings really working out

apologies if this has already been answered, but a size/ezis trick would be super appreciated

    cheers!
