    Pancho's SB

Hi, my name's Ramon A. Hurtado, I'm 17, I'm a high school senior and I'm putting together my portfolio. My top picks for schools are USC (animation +dig arts BA), CalArts (character animation BFA), LCAD (Drawing and Painting BFA) and UCLA (Art BA). I'm in the process of reformatting my folio, i'm gonna add tons more figure studies, I'm gonna start tomorrow.

Anyway, here are some of my more "finished" works!

    Hey there
I really like your first piece, it has a lot for me to think about
Great studies, especially on the hands and legs in that last study; the cats were fun to look at
nice job on the 'justice' picture, i like the colors and brushstrokes
Its been a [long] while since your last post; keep updating! And hope your portfolio is going/went well

Hey lychi, thanks for the great comments, it's really been awhile since i've updated this thread, not many responses though, but hopefully that will change now, i've been working hard and have some stuff to show for it, so it begins!

Hey Pancho! Cool stuff inhere for sure, you'll get your comments, dontcha worry ol' dog! Dig this latest post man, especially the pencils. Paintings are good too, warm colors, though your precision in 'em could be better. The objects in them seem a bit fuzzy and floaty right now, hah dunno how to explain that better! But lookin good anywho. great shading in these pencil ones, good values too. So yes, good start to a great sketchbook!

btw, in number 4 of the first post, is that Willy Wonka?

EDIT: Oh dang, you posted before me! Wow and what stuff you posted! Love the paintings man, they're real good! Faves are the fourth and sixth ones. You totally rock for 17 man! Heck yes!

some more sketches, first ones are from a sculpture drawing adventure my friend and i had at a local park, the one with the angels was my gift for that special someone on valentine's day, the rest are random things, a drawing after a photograph, a rembrandt study (pic really sux tho) and portrait of my friend kim, last one is my sister sam (while she was watching peter pan)...

been restudying my anatomy, reading kchen's posts here, reading loomis and vilppu's books, awesome stuff. And i've been doing a ton of 10 minute michelangelo/vesalius studies (note, i haven't been following my usual construction methods here so sorry if the proportions are off)
