Great stuff. Glad you're still at it. Don't know if you remember me, but send me a message sometime and let me know what you're up to.

I really like the above landscape.

Hey guys, sorry, I kinda moved and forgot about keeping this updated. Will be trying harder now!

Here are some more generic poofarts! Will try to post more pencil work, I've been sketching old master stuff, lots of fun. Also, school starting up so more life drawings will hopefully appear :>

Great Stuff Justin, i like how confident your brush strokes are. When trying to more impressionistic or quick paintings I usually muddy it by erasing or going over an area too much. I really dig the portrait of the older guy!

    Thanks everyone!
LucidCognition: It's all about knowing your stroke before you put it down. Not that I'm great at this, but it's a sensibility that's easy to pick up with traditional painting- you have to plan the value, the hue, the stroke needs to follow the form, what strokes came before, what strokes will come after. Some mediums allow for wobbliness (oil, for example), but something like acrylic is like ink- there's a permanence to your strokes that is hard to avoid, so you really need to be sure you are making the right ones.

Goog: I remember you, you got really damn good since last time I saw you! congrats on being at Ringling. Kick ass!

here is some experimental thumbnails. I will be building a robot in Modo for a class and am using it as an excuse to get some mileage doing robots. I think I'll do some tech studies before doing more, as these were a pretty big flop. Thanks all for looking, the response is encouraging. I forgot how good of a motivator it is to look through the sketchbooks here!

dude, that one forest one with the amazing light hits all over the grass. possibly one of the nicest paintings you have. Such an overwhelming sense of atmosphere and mood. Very well done!

and the robots are cool too. but im a sucker for robots.

Always love seeing your work Justin. Its good to see you posting.
Loving all your experimentation with the very brushy, textural stuff. It looks great.

Hope Art centre is still going well and I'm guessing that 343 Internship was damn good too.
    Keep it up buddy!

Hey all, glad to see some familiar faces

School has started so its hard for me to do personal work, but in about 2-3 weeks I"ll have a nice hefty dump to show.

here's just some doodles in my freetime and a 15 minute life-painting. As usual, thanks everyone for all the kind comments!

    Thanks Chris!

    Here's a digi plein-air from tonight.

In two weeks, I'll have my first project of the semester done; looking forward to posting that work! Will probably be mostly silent until then.

    Thanks for looking!
