TWICE IN A BOX
Medium - ACrylic on canvas(2 canvas) , and Alternate installation
These canvases are latest in the series that I am working on, I am trying to portray the canvas as a box(cuboid like shape) from which the art wants to liberate, the boundaries are always tense with action, but it always holds the art captive, In this installation what I am also try to present is the boz like shape of the installation which reiterates my introspection on the box like feel on canvas .
Hope it means something to you too
bhanu, old friend, it's really getting hot in here.

as gay as it sounds but this post just made me cum all over the place!!!!!
i adore schiele and this post has got a lot of his influence.
are u planning on leaving them as they are right now????PLEEEEAAASE do so!!!!
and post them in the FF so we can have some more CA-cumming goning on.
man, hope to see this on a shelve and buy it!!
u have done tremendous steps my friend!
Thanks a lot SLayer, lets see if we can cath up at yahoo, thanks for the love though brother, please do keep visiting, I like it when friends come over Thanks
Darjan - hey man , really nice seeing you in my SB too. Well I think its awesome if you see shades of schiele here, thanks, I am planning on painting and clean out a few places, but the overall feel will remain the same, actually I want the cluttered look.
I will be painting over it with acrylic and watercolor, I hope to keep the effect I got through the pencils. Hope you like 'em too.
Thanks for the support, and yeah I posted these in FF thread too, but just in my painting thread, I will post it in seperate when the pages are colored.
thanks slayer, brother always!!!
P_sage- Well I am glad you had the reaction because that was what I intended, its a queer thing how the levity of humor morphs to the grotesque of horror. It seems there is a dark side to humor and if you see from a perspective even horror is funny. Thanks
an attempt at the cover for the comic, Its abit hit and miss, please let me know wht you think
A selfish artless BUMP guys, I just finished the story for the graphic novel GRAFFITEE, a huge step, I hope it turns out to be good when it get in your hands. Wish me luck!!!
Thanks a lot P_sage
SO I thought the first 4 pages had a stiffness unlike most of my usual drawing, so I decided to abandon accuracy , for a while , for flow,
and I think it worked form, the eye flow from panel to panel feels great, the lines feel nice and definitive.
The smudged sort of lines are actually wrong/useless lines that I cpover with diluted white acrylic
Did em both last nite, now its down to painting

hey brother, thanks for the really beautiful words in my thread. it helps a lot.
now about your works
-i'll skip all the asskissing for now. even though there's plenty. but i'd help more with some advice.
I love the cover work. I love the scene itself. the point of view is just crazy, you feel like you're looking over that guy's shoulder and all that dark around provides an amazing atmosphere and feeling. On the other hand, i believe that the cover should be somewhat more advanced. We all hate talking about this but a cover has to sell. And in order to sell, it has to achieve two things:
1. It has to have a strong link with what's going on inside [like yours does]
2. It has to be eyecandy in my opinion. So i believe you could spend a bit more time on it.
Apart from this, all is looking very well. I truly believe you should exploit fish-eye perspectives even more. What i really love about most of the boards is the strange, uncommon points of view and what can do it better than fish-eye?
hope it helps
keep up, brother
lolbbq - Thanks a lot man, hmmm dont we all love sex..eh? heheheh
_^SlayeR^_ - Man I am gonna miss you on the boards.... but I hope you atleast do come a bit to check out and give crits . Thanks for the insight in the cover making, Will make sure that i will completely give due notice to it when I attempt it again, actually I find it hard to make eyecandy,I really want the cover to jump out and I bet your advice could really help me do that. So thanks a lot bro. . Sent you an IM at yahoo .

Did it yesterday, I think I really got the essence, atleast partially, of what I wanted to portray in these, now..to the next page please!!!!!
Great updates man! Those ink drawings have so many things in them that really add to the atmosphere. I'm not sure what it is, the lines, the perspective, the points of view.. And of course, in your last post, the colors add even more. An anarchistic mayhem of awesomeness!
Woke up this morning, found out my signature was gone..
sure, i check the forums every day, i'm just taking a posting-works-break until i get my head straight.but I hope you atleast do come a bit to check out and give crits .
love the last update, especially that yummy green on the wall, it looks fantastic. coming along nicely man, coming along nicely.
got your message on YM so hpefully i'll see you around soon! cheers!
about your and mydrims posts from 1-3 nov. i totally agree! short: conceptart.org is great, but sad enough a little bit closeminded. id love to see more adventurous illustration and fine art on here! did you start the threads you talk about already? sounds like a good idea!
My sketchbook: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...106521&page=11
TOWY- Thank you, and for you I have another page today
_^SlayeR^_ - Good to see that you will be around. Thanks , though I dont feel much happy with the overall page, all the panels feel as if they are from different planets heheh. Be sure to come back soon !!!
ajvenema - I am a bit glad, a bit sad we agree on that, but like I said, its nice to see them awesome illustrators here too, guys like hundley, kunz, pratt and others. This site is expanding and yeah it will expand to become even better place I hope.
About the thread, I have been a bit busy cuz of the comic lately and will be till i make the pitch, so I will get to it after that, I will surely notify you of that .
PAGE 3 (GRAFitEE)
the third page, I tried to make this more harmonius than the last one , I think that helped, the panels are more coherent and belong to one page.
Hope you guys dig it
This one was hard to work with, did this in the midst of my artistic block, but I am partially satisfied with how this turned out, I tried quite many ways to get the work done, and its done.
This page felt very fluid, wish I had approached the earlier pages too like this. Really enjoyed the freedom I got with this one. ENJOY!!!!!
MAN those comic book lines are sooo fresh! and nice perspective and angles
I did not expect to see that to come from you, I just got very inspired,
Thanks for sharing!
Do you mind if i copy some B&W pages? I wont take credit or anything but if I want to be considerate if you are planning to publish?
TOWY - Thanks a lot, hope you like this latest one too, when you come back thanks
jedininjaman- Thanks muchos, I always liked playing with perspectives , so I really wanted to incorporate that in the comic. Didnt expect huh??
Yeah most people dont expect fine art-ists to come up with shit like this, but yeah if you had told me a month or so back that Itd be knee deep in a comic project , i d have a nice laugh. Actually I should really thank a friend of mine , akhilesh Arya, we had met sometime back and had discussed about ideas for GNs , one of which was this GRAFitEE. I felt really fired up then. SO thanks , Arya.
COpying ? yeah you can. But in what way? I am a bit confused, I will take this to the publishers, but sure do whatever you think is appropriate, with it.
PAGE 6 (GRAFitEE)
The Last page for the pitch, now on to making a formal pitch and painting the cover, its gonna be fun, maybe!!
WOW ... flashing coulors ... killing atmosphere.... your work made me speachless
Thanks! ha I just started, and to clraify I am just using it for personnel reasons as a study.
Ill post what Ive done when I get around to it, but Ive printed em and studied these for a few hours now and some (not all) of the poses have such an awesome sense of gravity, they just feel so real, and yet they are so fresh too because of the strong and fluid lines. I looked through the rest of your sketchbook and none of the previous skeches have really caught my eye in this way, so I think the linework in this comic book has really been a good milestone for you.
Also I do have a few questions regarding the process, did you use any reference? and is there any under drawing of sorts? I cant really see any, and it looks like you sort of just jumped in with them. Anyways I look forward to seeing more.
-big thanks for sharing man
Great style! Your characters have great movement and lines. Your panel structure is good at keeping the eye moving. Your colors get a little muddy at times. I will say I really like the palette on the last few. Good stuff. Keep it up
Elophant-Thanks, your compliment made mee speeechlesss.
jedininjaman - Oh wow, I am somewhat flatterd, my work is being studied an all. Well I think because I want this to be based in reality , I have make the figures follow rules of reality too. Unlike my previous works and paintings , where expression was the only rule. So confirming to rules does seem to make it(comic) look like its much better. I have such a looong way to go. Anyways.
Well I only used partial reference for the first panel of the first page. only for the building right neext to the character's. And I did underdrawing for the 2,3 and 4th pages, that doesnt mean though that the 1 , 5 and 6th page got made in one go, I did waste quite a number of pages , just that I dint try to erase the wrong lines with correction fluid, I just got another page and started drawing again. That ways my mistakes became my references , so when I draw next I know what not to do.
I will going back to writing part a bit more now. So for a few days I wont be able to show much drawing and pages. Thanks.
IronFistGoon - Thanks, Yeah the colors do get a bit muddy sometimes, But I think that somhow by default they help the overall situation, since muddy also makes the pages earthy and highlights the striking colored parts . But Yeah I will try to work more carefully, thanks.
I will work on it a bit , but would love some crits on how to make it look better.
