    Indian

Well, this is my first real attempt at a realistic human face...I know there's something wrong with the mouth region but I'm not sure what. Also, does the war paint look like it was an after though? Does it fit? Would it be better without it? I've included both the version with the texture and without. Thanks.

Well you haven't really defined the upper lip. Lips are a bitch sometimes. It looks like you've drawn this from reference so look closely at that and try painting some in, if its crap erase it and do it again.
The tatoo could use a bit of texture maybe, it looks very PS Hard Round Brushy to me

Also the nose needs a bit of work, it looks lke its pointing up a bit.
It looks really good but perhaps more range of the tones and try to blend the colours in a bit especially on the side of the face

What kind of "indian" is this, a Native American, South American, or Indian from India??
If in fact he is one of the above then, I would suggest seeking some reference photos for his features, cause right now he looks like a caucasian with paint.

face paint would looke more realistic if it followed the contour of the face.

the nose is more crunked then the mouth

    not a bad firsttry man

The eyes are a bit off on the conture of the face, they don't follow the the curve of the head. They seem to have their own plain.
Also the shadow under the nose seems a tad off.

ok i'll have a go, although i aint exactly Elwell so forgive me if i am wrong

for drawing the mouth the middle line between the upper and lower lip (which you have drawn) should curve down slightly more at the end, also in a rested position the ends of the mouth dosent normally go any further than a line drawn straight down the middle of the eye (along the angle of the face)it might be why the mouth looks slightly off to you)

the nose seems to be missing a nostril on the right side, from the angle youve drawn you should be able to see at least a slight incination of that right nostril.

i do like the subtle shading you have done on the side plane of the face indicating the cheekbones, maybe you could push that just a little bit more

all in all a very good first try man, wish i had a tablet so i could do a paintover*grumbles*
