Hey guys! Nice to share goals with each other . Mine are pretty much similar.

    Short term:
    - Do as much life drawing as possible and also keep pushing my environments.
    - Get to HOONs level by end of Dec 06.

    Long term:
    - Get a portfolio by end of graduation (07) that will get me a job in concept art/illustration.
    - Start on my graphic novel/manga.

    Here are mine:

    Short term:
-assemble a design/illustration portfolio and a webpage for my studio
-find where I want to go with illustration

    Long/mid term:
-move to europe (Spain probably, Ireland was the first option but it doesn't look like it has a developed design/illustration market) and establish my studio there

That's funny that Phil made it down to Argentina Fedezz. I haven't had him as a teacher, but we recognize each other in the halls. I guess he's travelling all over this semester. (I assume random chat can go in our new thread)

Well i looked at the whole instruction for the cgchallenge, and it does look pretty interesting. The main hurdle for me is reading the book, because i already have a ton of reading for school. I'll see if i can get my hands on it. Right now i'm really busy trying to get my portfolio together.

3ch is a generator that generates 3 random words so we would then draw what it generates. you can check the 3ch challenge forums for more info. Sounds awsome. I would be partial to request monocrome/pencil but a color piece would force me out of comfort which sounds interesting.

I guess I'll list my goals also:
    Short term-
-study bridgeman and RB Hale and Nicholades books

    Long Term-
    - enter AAU for illustration in january (i guess its not to long term )
    - work as a fantasy/sci-fi illustrator or Concept illustrator

Uh, i guess i'm down. It hurts my head to think about that, but i guess that should make it more interesting. I vote for any media.. i'm itching for some PS...

Actually i take that back, the amount of work i have to do on my portfolio this week is staggering, they dont make anything the right sizes so i have to do a bunch of cropping and stuff... Sorry, soon this will all be over... for a time.

Hey, I'm in! Any media choice is fine with me. We could keep it monochromatic and traditional if you don't want to make it too restrictive, but again, it's the same for me.
I was also thinking of some more collaborative activities, like an exquisite corpse, or drawing in your style the charater of the previous dude in the line. I don't know, just some ideas.

Edit: uhh, can someone explain me what exactly a conveyor of troops is?

Ooh i just had another idea. We dont need to do it anytime soon but i'll put it here so i dont forget. How about we take our favorite thing from another member's sketchbook, say, the person to the left or right of us in the sig, and then re-do it in our style. I think it sounds fun.

Fedezz, i'm not sure either... although in that context it sounds like it means transporter. It doesn't have to make sense to draw it though

    That idea sounds cool fish.
Here, another activity idea for the activities pool:
-everyone draws his self portrait and pm it to the one to his right (let's loop the signature sequence for this, uhmm?).
-He then has draw a portrait of the guy based on that sp.
-Then, he pm the result to the next guy in line (and receives the equivalent from the guy to his left), who has to do the portrait based on the interpretation of the sp of the previous participant.
-Repeat the process until the portrait reaches the hand of the sp originator.
-We the end up with 6 (assuming everyone enters this thing) progressions of 6 drawings each.
Sounds like a cool thing to do to stimulate lateral thinking and to see how this "interpretational noise" affects an image. Dunno, at least it sounded cool to me
i.e. Fishspawn pm his self portrait to Blue Severin and receives sweetoblivion314's sp. Blue Severin draws a portrait of Fishspawn using the sp he received as reference, then pm the result to fedezz, who does the same (using Blue Severin's pic as ref), and so on. Finally, we have a weird series of progressive interpretations.

Oooh i like that idea fedezz, now all we need is some time . James i'd reccomend using a vanishing point and some perspective, the imagination is rampant in that piece! I actually started that one too but i have no idea if i will ever finish it, seeing as we have to drive 8 hours to get to portfolio day this weekend, and then 8 hours back... and i have a bunch of essays due. Stupid school.

Well, since this thread is for posting goals, my short term goal is to graduate my Art College, get a good job as a painter for a nice company that makes cartoons, and my long time goal is to have two beautiful kids, and make animations for Disney !
