271 contenders over 4 rounds. 396 new pieces of artwork. 1 winner. And not one 1-on-1 battle.
The event will be ran as it was last time; each of the pairings for each battle in a round are chosen completely at random. Whoever receives the most votes per battle from an ever-rotating judging panel of the industry's best advances to the next round. I plan on moving this Last Man Standing along faster than the last one, so be prepared.
Round I: 271 initial contenders in 3 (one 4) man battles Round II: 90 contenders in 3 man battles Round III: 30 contenders in 6 man battles
Final Round IV: 5 contenders, one winner.
The Great Discovery
Make it epic, make it dynamic, make it compelling! You've got 5 other opponents in this round that are going to be working their asses off to make what are sure to be amazing images, so push it to the limit.
The official deadline stands at 11:59pm PST Sunday, November 12th, 2006.
Submissions: Every contestant will be responsible for hosting their own image. You will be required to submit a link to your image to my email at email@example.com in the yourname_round_TD.jpg format, with the title of your email yourname's entry. Make sure you image is under 500k, as that is approximately the forum limit for attachment size. Please try your best to follow the format here, it saves me an assload of work. No WIPs are to be posted before the deadline.
Size: Keep your images large enough so that the detail is preserved, but do your best to keep the file size down (Photoshop's Save for Web function can help quite a bit).
Awww, the pressures of the thunderdome too much for you? Tough shit. You drop out without fair warning (and fair warning is at least 3 weeks from the due date), you will have the honor of gracing my official "I pussed out of the Thunderdome and all I got was public humiliation" page. This also goes for not submitting something for the showdown.
These matches are insane. Good luck guys, you are seriously going to need it. I have to figure out a good scoring system for a 6 man battle, so I'll post that up once I figure it out. Also, I think I'm going to have more judges than usual cast their votes to get a wide spectrum of tastes and aesthetics casting their votes on you guys.
shit cakes is all I have to say! ...oh and..um.. isn't it el coro in my match?? O_o; I mean Dave Palumbo or el coro, either way i'm screwed XD
edit: In the last round Aleksi suggested for our names to be hidden from the judging and presentation...is this a possibility?? Because it sounds spiffy!
edit #2: ah now I understand why I'm going up against Dave, I did not read the remainder of the round 2 thread yet.
I'm very happy and I respect coro's decision! but then again that's the kind of thing i'd expect from him
Dave i'm honored to go against you! your stuff is off the hook!! Then again i'm thrilled to go against everyone in my match! Let's do some good stuff you skanky bitches!! (hey..some trash talk IS allowed! )

I'd be happy to muffle your names in the finally finished thread, but you know all that would incite would be guessing of which artist did what piece. And who are we kidding, with 99% accuracy we can all pick out which artist did what. Wwe know each other too well.
The judges know that their votes are confidential, and I doubt you fine artists will get your feelings hurt if a judge doesn't vote for your piece. Riiiight?
I don't know, what do you guys think? For the record, I'm not going to set up some parallel universe page that only the judges can access and see.
