    Work shown in progress...

Sorry for the laziness in this sketchbook, i am not really in the habit of drawing(i know i know), so i have very little to show out of NDA work... but thanks to the calendar finally coming to light, i can now show the steps in making this piece.

i started out by doing little thumbnails, in this case i was trying to achieve a feeling of "flower blossoming" in the composition, and i also work out the value scale(which is not scaned in, so not shown here):

well. and then i scan it in and start coloring with the "simple water" brush in painter 9.5. i like the color variation it gives me:

I thought the linework was a little too weak for the foreground characters to stand out, so i did a inking on tracing paper of only the characters and scan it in and put on top:

i played with the adjustment layers in photoshop at last and put in the finish touches:

and that's all folks! hope u like this as a piece for the CA calendar!

    LMS2 Round 3 progress

Hello there! i thought it might be a good addition for this rather empty sketchbook i am keeping here, so this is it:

These four took me a weekend to do; which u can see basically has all the ingredients of the finish piece. i focused on lighting and tone to create a more solemn mood.

More twigs, minor adjustments and details; and the result:

I don't know if this stuff is Arthur Rackham good.

But it's pretty damn good. I wish I were 1/10 the painter you are.
