    sketchin' it the lavhoes way

Man, I haven't had a sketchbook thread in ages. Not sure where my old one went to, but I don't think I could even bear to see what my work looked like back then, so it all works out.

Let's see if I can handle this new-fangled attachment manager thing.

    Some recent thumbnails:

And my three latest speedpainting for the past week or so:

    Oooh
I'm diggin those evil lookin fellaz at the top.
Your landscapes are a little 'muddy' though, I mean, unless they're WIPs I think you should tighten them up a lilbit. Shapes and stuff need more definition, I mean.

    Keep art'n!

As the pattern gets more intricate and subtle being swept along is no longer enough.

Man, haven't updated in a while!*

*a while apparently being over a year, yeesh

I've been doing a lot of sketching in the meantime, but it's all been in moleskines, and I'm horrible about being able to set aside time to scan everything in. But hey, I also do a lot of Photoshop stuff too, so when I do I'll post it here!

    Here's some recent-ish stuff:

Thanks, Towarlock! I tend to sketch (a helluva lot) in pen only, so having that as a restriction means when I finally get a chance to lay in some super-light eraseable lines I can really throw in some detail and bust out some decent sketches.

That said, another day, another set of sketches:

    Plus a couple speedies:

I really like your landscapes, there is so much detail in them. The first one of the last post you added is my favorite. Keep up the good work!

I love your color feel. There's a really nice intricate play between your values and colors that creates great intensity and makes it very surreal. Just fantastic!
