Getting better Gloominati. You pretty much know what you gotta do, so I am not going to say much of anything, unless you want me to. You're figures have so much life to them now from what you were doing a while back. Keep working hard.

nicce tell me how the INTUOS4 is and how much you love it! ;]

this guy's eyes are a little too far apart. loving the colors. really makes for a vibrant pose. i like how you fixed his hands. was going to say they were too small.

btw, i had a terrible stomach virus around the same time you did too. it was crazy! i felt full and things were just terrible. i didn't draw much either and i never want something like that again. i think it might have been food poisoning, but not sure. how about you?

lovin the figure studies and color studies. i must do moarrrrr of theezzz too! ;]

ps. oh yeah i wanted to add that if your colors are messed up on the new monitor or if you see anything fishy, use this LCD Test. i've used it on my laptop, and 2 other LCD monitors i use daily. it works great on getting the colors to look right. the main deal with mine is the contrast. here at work when i paint, it's usually darker than it is at home on my better ViewSonic LCD monitor. i recommend it to anyone not wishing to spend $2000 on one of those spider thingys. ;]

hey christof, good to see you updating again.
I know you want to improve seriously, so I´ll give you a little crit.
the sketches are wonky, foreshortening is guess work and anatomy seems to me like you interpret from remembering a skilled artist´s figure lay-in. really go to the sources like, I guess you own a copy, bammes.
that flaw is more apparent in the last figure painting. the composition is really symmetrical, so is the figure. in that case, you have to be very very concerned with keeping the symmetry in the anatomy and not have arms that have a different lenght, proportions of upper to lower body off, a wobbly and schematic shoulder girdle with no apparent sceleton underneath.
the lighting and mood is wonderful, far better than I am able, but don´t make the mistake and render a flawed drawing. I know you want to run and improve fast, but that will go even more smoothly if you take your time with the tedious drawing.
(yeah, I know, I always rush to the fun part to. but I am fighting the habit and try to really restrain myself and take my time)

ok, i hope that doesn´t come across as harsh, we better speak from person to person hehe.

also hau rein, du machst das schon alter

    tom- thank you!

so nothing too fancy this time. just some boring studies. boring but utterly important. Funny to see that Bammes somehow fails on showing the scapula, some really wonky stuff in that book, didn't expect that couldn't wait to get my hands on a sceleton yesterday to figure stuff out on my own. It's really crazy to experience HOW MUCH more educational lifedrawing actually is compared to studying from books.

So some studies from head and some scapula studies from life. YEAH!

kickass studies and i love the last few paintings on last page. the woman in the water is awesome.

Magicman- Thank you so much, mate!

Flaskpost- haha thanks man. actually it really feels that i am totally slacking right now although i am probably working as much as I can right now. Guess that is that "never be satisfied" - thing, gonna push it HARDER ARGH!!!

    thirdeye- thanks!

okaaaaay some more studies. half from mind, half from life. all the muscle constructions from mind, some bones from life.
I know I am probably saying this the whole time but JEEEZZ that stuff is SO intense, you can literally feel the knowledge rushing into your head, it's a BLAST. Might sound strange but it almost feels like I am starting to see things with different eyes more and more. crazy stuff

Edit: Problem solved. Actually it was a graphiccard problem, had nothing to do with photoshop!
    --------------------------------------------------

no update now just one question. Since the "support-forum" is literally empty, I deciedd to post this Problem I am having with Photoshop cs5 over here hoping that anybody might help.

the brush-shape that you have all the time while painting dissapears partially with increasing the brush size until it finally dissappears when using really big brushes, making it really hard to work big.
any solutions? Added a picture to clarify what i mean. unfortunately couldn't do a screenshot of the problem so I scribbled it for you.

ok just one little unfancy update for today(well at least unfancy for you who just look at them, for me it was a BLAST drawing them).
started studying the human skull from life, and jeeeeez that's friggin hard, especially really understanding the form.
I can tell you one thing, as utterly fucked up as my school is, my figure-/anatomy drawing teacher is so badass I can't even put it into words. His way of drawing and analysing the form forces you to think about the object you draw in a way that makes you understand it from every possible angle by just drawing it from a single one. That's what makes it so hard. You draw every object from every angle at one time, friggin hard, but you learn so much with every drawing, it's just too much to take right now
