technically, really wet watercolors, like you use them, are some of the hardest things to work with, as there's no white in your pallette.

THe precision of your strokes is just mind boggling.

    Keep it up!!

Unbelievable. I'm definitely coming back to scroll through all of your old stuff when I have more time. Your watercolors and graphite pieces are some of the most beautiful and honest work I have seen on this site. Seriously...I was audibly "oohing" and "aaaahing" as I scrolled through you pages! Really hope that the school works out for you.

whew, far more replies than this thread deserves, thanks guys!!

Clochette- Thank you, great to have you here

Katzenminze- Thanks, hope that it helps you.....in some way

kevinwueste- Unfortunately I do not have enough time to visit life drawing sessions in the last months since I have to do 9 months of alternative service (helping out in a retirement home). I spent almost all day in there, so there is hardly left any time to draw........well one week to go So for now that figurative stuff is drawn/painted from reference

Diego- Thank you man, cool to have you around again!!

    bouroune- thanks man!

Mischeviouslittleelf- thanks man, there are reffed however

    Slake- haha thank you!

MattGamer- Thank you dude, glad you like them!

algenpfleger- haha thanks. I haven't looked through and watercolor tutorials till now, So I guess that makes it quite easy for mee to work loose since there aren't any rules in teh back of my head disturbing me. Wish my brain was so untouched in every aspect of art I skimmed through till now

    Flaskpost- Thank you!!

My57- thanks, and thanks for checking it out!

DoubleThink- thanks! that stuff is painted really impulsive and without thinking too much about what I am doing, but it's cool to hear that it seems to look as if I knew what I was doing

paperX- Thanks man, glad to have you here. Yeah I am still waiting for a letter of that school! Damnit I wann know if I made it or not!!

courtyard- wow, thanks!! That comment made my day

So here wo go again, not too much to show, just a new painting I am working on. Actually it's not even a painting but a bunch of studies smashed down on one big canvas Trying to play around with colors, values and hues. trying to find out what works for skintones and what doesnt. actually there isn't too much going on that really works but it's huuuuuge fun to discover what color can do The more I free myself from the influence of other artists, trying to find things out for myself, the more fun it actually is. And I feel that stuff is sticking inside my brain far more easily.
    Damn, life's good

wow man, really dig the feeling of those colors. The greenish, pink and bluish/grey areas are doing a great part in keeping the flesh really fresh. One thing i keep noticing in your work is how squarish you resolve the shoulders, i say this because the whole painting has a very organic feel except for the shoulder area.
Well i'd love to see how this turn out man, keep on the good work.

I know you're on a whole other level already life- and art-wise but I just wanted to say that I still admire what you do and the artistic voice you have. You're very unique in your style and I stop by to consume every update!

Gloominati, man your watercolor work is so impressive! You handle the figure very well, and I can see all your anatomy studies have paid off. Keep busting out the paints man, cause they're turning out great.

Diego- thank you man. and thanks for pointing that out, gonna pay some more attention to that!!

~Faust~- Thank you very much dude!

    DanielC- Thanks mate!

    paperX- Thanks a lot!

    localfatheaded- Thanks!

KidApe- Thanks for the kind words man, you're really doing great yourself!

Another tiny update on the painting. Unfortunately I am not able to spend as much time on that one as I want to but there are only two weeks left and I will be able to work on my art 24/7 again, can't describe how much I am looking forward to that
Don't like the ear part, edges and contrast are way to harsh, kinda distracting from the entire rest of the painting. Gonna let it dry and work over it tomorrow! Unbelievable how hardcore my camera sucks up subtle hues and value transitions....shit

Loving the color temperatures. Yeah, softing up some of the edges like you said would subordinate areas and keep it subtle.

I'm seeing a lot of great improvement. I like how you have a clean break down of the figures in some if your figure drawings. The cool color palette in your avatar caught my eye.
