    thanks to all of you!!

heres a very quick study I did today, after I screwed up a "real" painting.
Pretty amazing to discover all teh different types of warm and cool greys.

About 30 minutes. Gonna do a lot more of these, a great way to get rid of my oil-painting PAPER (who the fuck invented thsi stuff??) and my water soluble oils (same with these!!)

Mindblowing sketchbook man, your use of color blows me away, especially on that orange haired girl on the previous page, and you do a lot of studies, and your hatching looks really good, and you're even a bit younger than me! Damn, I gotta get moving

    FRAYLETOK- well, heheh, thanks

algenpfleger- thanks. appreciate the egobump a lot man!

so here we go again. I am STILL waiting for my paintingsupplies and till I get them i have to deal with teh worst material ever. sucks a lot but everyday without putting a brushstroke down is a lost day.

So here we go. I am gonna try to do this lifestudy thats a little more intense than the ones I did before. So heres some drapery and a bun, tadaaaa.

Gonna post some progress shots as I go along.

This is a veeery early state of the whole piece, put in the rough sketch to have something to deal with and blocked in some rough colors, which are definitely not correct yet, and gonna be hopefully fixed in the next step. The paint is applied very very thin onto the canvas, this is all about just having something to work with rather than being accurate or super correct.
    about 15 minutes done..

flaskpost- thank you man, great to hear that

So went on with my buny, and obviously did a looot of mistakes. but as long as I recognize them, nothing is lost. Gonna stop now, to let teh paint dry.
The next step will be to fix the mistakes that I did at teh very beginning: nailing my darkest darks, what I really missed in that one. probably I am gonna draw that one before i go on painting to get the values and the drawing itself right.

    faust- thank you!

    heres a bun update.
decided to leave this studie as it is and not to work further on it. There#s just too much stuff to fix, especially stuff I should have gotten right at the very beginning of the painting even before I put down some paint onto teh canvas. Gonna start another one today hoping that it gets better.
Nevertheless I learned a load from this study what i can apply to my next ones.
So lets consider the painting as it is as " teriibly failed", but the education I got is amazingly valuable

i love your oil paintings alot. itry to keep to traditional painting too. you have a good sense of colour scheme. thats somthing i need to work on myself. keep at the anatomy and object study. i think thats key to working on any improvements you may seek in your own work
    good one

    faust- thanks, dude!

started an figure/anatomy study, that i am going to push as far as i can right now, gonna see where I end up and post some progress shots as I go along.

So heres step one. about 15 minutes donde. trying to get the basic shapes as accurate as I can. At the same time I am not caring at all about anatomy or anything else. just trying to look as closely as I can and to get stuff down as accuratly as possible.

Great stuff man, I think you´re doing a great job, just keep going, if you think that anatomy is boring, then the best way to get rid of it is mastering it.

lennon- thanks mate, although I believe that anatomy is the most awesome thing there is

Screwed the study in the last update because I suck terribly in drawing with charcoal. These watts dudes must be mad, or they must be using amazing material

So i started a new one using pencil. heres the progress so far. drawing's done, blocking in my darkest darks. I'm gettin really frustrated because of my abilities to photograph/scan my stuff. cam sucks, scanner sucks, argh!!
so sorry for the evry bad scan. it will get clearer as soon as I have some more values in there
