Hey Lot! Thanks for dropping by my thread!
Fantastic animals, and good variety. There's just a few basic rules you seem to remember sometimes and forget others. For example, in the PS sketch from October 23, you shaded with black, which is a bad idea.
If you want to improve your figures, I'd suggest starting whith some studies of the human skeleton. If you already know animal skeletons, try and apply that knowledge to humans.
You definately have a very good base in art, you just have to build upon it. Keep it up!

    Hey Lot!

I agree with everyone else that your human figures need some work,
but your animal-life stuff is awesome.

    Lot-

Wow, you are very good about updateing your SB! I would do well to follow your example

You have a very creative mind and a lot of good sketches in here. I think the Copa piece is one of my favorites. I just really like your character ideas, they are strange and interesting, and have a definate charm. Keep posting, I am sure I will be back!

Hey Lot! Well, seems like you've got quite a bit of pretty darned good advice in here - not sure what to add. I think at the moment you're working in quite a few different styles, which is a good way to keep you adaptable as an artist, but doesn't nessesarily help you define your own specific style. Concentrate on what really makes you lines your own, and let the work develop from there. Sorry to be so vague!

    Lorenzo!

Yep, agree with the figure drawings...
just a thought..how u improve your animal/reptile work so much .....and still be a couple levels down on figure drawing?

..tho i encourage u do experiment with the shapes of the bodies and create you own style.

hope to see more improvement on figures

You've got great watercolor skill. You asked about how to improve your style on the old fellow, well it depends on what sort of style you want. You lean towards a cartoony style, so I figure what you could try is to introduce some more angularity into your line, use straight lines in order to describe hard surfaces, so the characters won't look so squishy. Also you could try hard brushes for the colors, the colors are airbrushed so the form isn't clear can't tell what's round or angular. Get the flat local color first then work on modelling.

Hey man thanks for dropping in on me, the animal watercolours are great, especially the yellowish frog,
other people have touched on things like anatomy and life drawing so i won't bother (i think i just did?)
so what i will say is this, in your colour work it pays to unify the colours a bit more, right now they clash together a lot. for example in the picture with the house on the water, the sky and water and both very blue, which means there should be more blue tones in the rest of the image. hope that made sense dude!

You have a pretty cools tyle as is, I think it'll always be there, no matter what you draw. Some people just have a natural style, and I see it in all of your pieces, both thew strong and weak ones. Keep it up, but I don't think style is ever going to be an issue for you.

Hye thanks for visiting my sb.
And you said my watercolors were nice, your's are fablous.
I like what I see, the animals are outstanding. And the still life a few posts up is very well observed, have you ever tried figure drawing from life? That would help you with the observation and learning forms aswell as the knowledge of the human body. i read that you like experimenting with the forms, but you will notice that it's much easier to experiment and try new things when you have the knowledge of knowing how and what to change. It will help you in many ways, or maybe start with animal anatomy, it's your choice to focus. But human anatomy resembles animal anatomy in many ways. The muscels work in the same way. It helps when you want to creat the animals without refferences. And there will be times like that.

Another thing is the intensity of your colors. They work great, but try different ways of working with colors, wam and cold shadow, controlling the viewers focus by using more saturate colors where you wan them to look, with that I mean purer and unmixed colors.

Good luck and keep doing the things that you love to do, it will help you on the way.

    Hugs!

Don't feel to pressed to learn digital or getting to focused on it. Colortheory and knowledge about drawing is the same all around. It's all about getting used to a new "material". Good luck with your art journey

I def. think your birds and reptiles are your strongest pieces.
The watercolor piece at the top is very nice as well.
    Keep it up!
