There were a few really nice pieces this round.
Supervlieg, Lodin, rawwad, Cloister, Mickael Jaeks, BlkCelebration, Tom Garden, Marko Mazzoni. rawwad, that thing scares me. Your story was a bit hard to read, and I see english isn't your 1st language, but I would have asked for some help with it from one of your english speaking friends. Either way though, your story and especially your image got the point across and won my vote. I'ts a very unique and disturbing creature that avoided convention and cliche'. Nicely Done!

Lodin- With such a nice piece not needing a vote from you, why waste it?

Thank you to those who provided creative comments on my piece and to those of you who cast their vote on me.

    My vote goes for:

    xgabo
Though i would love to see a description and despite the creature doesn't look like an ethereal one...i am impressed by the approach of black and white only and most importantly by the creature design.
It's all about the creature design in first line and xgabo was the man for me

There was a second entry which went head to head with xgabo...

    Supervlieg
really lovely design, concept and rendering! I am sure you will gain some stars for sure in future...always between the top 5 entries...(not only in the race of 1st reply in the posting thread )

thanks for the comments... I didn't have time to finish my entry properly for lack of time (I guess the ethereal-ness of the creature would be better represented in colour) and I totally forgot the description! but no excuses, my next one will be completed in time.

    some comments:

Supervlieg - Got my vote. Great design, and very funny too. The cool style helped a lot, the glow of the creature is perfect.

Lodin - Very moody, I love the colour on this one. The gills on the creature's neck give it a nice touch. Something strange happening with the right front leg, doesn't seem totally right for me.

Rawwad - Very Moeabius-esque piece, the design for some reason seems to me more like a character than a creature (maybe because it's standing upright). Simple but very effective.

Dr.Pants - I want to eat your creature, it looks like it's made of jello.

Cloister - Great rendering, but the design is lacking for me. It looks like the creature was put together from spare parts, it's not very cohesive and believable as a real being.

    Cheers

I voted for Lodin because that's what an Ethereal Stalker really looks like. We had a lot of 'em where I grew up.

    Lodin, by a mile.
Have to say, theres a strong majority of these that just don't seem to have anything 'ethereal' about them. Not in apearence at least. Also a small handful that just look like random creature designs, with no consideration of the title.
o well. difficult one, its why i never finished, so who am i to crit? lol

My issue for this is that I feel a lot fo teh creatures don't really feel etheral....

My vote non-the-less was for Oriface....his entry made me feel sad and made me feel like a ghostly apparition was going to come out of the screen... I also loved teh simplicity of both the subject and the color scheme.

Thanks for all the comments. I need to manage my time better with the images. I'm usually rushing to finish em on the last day ,and it's showing.
I have a couple of days off before the next cow ends so hopefully I can spend more time on it.

    Also thanks for the vote!

I voted for rawwad, I kept going back to this image everytime I entered this thread. I dig the weightlessness of the creature, it looks very dream-like. Love the way the color intensifies towards the end.

Other entries that I really dug where: Supervlieg, AztcFireFlower, and Lodin.

O_o I expected to be rejected haha.
thanks for the critics everyone, it is the whole reason I joined in here.
Im pretty new to CG (2 months) so I hope to grow overtime
who knows, one day I gain votes too

about the black lines, tough it really wasnt appropiate in this scene I usually do prefer black lines, but after doing this one I think it really depends on the topic of the image wether I should use it or not.

edit : what are custom brushes ?

I vote for Lodin and the Nightmare Beast because it really is frightening and the atmosphere of the image is working.

Congrats to Lodin for your first COW star!

I will update your title, when the site-bug with the error-messages is fixed, because it also appears in the admin panel
