Its' free and it takes less than 10 seconds!
Real nice work man, your colours are really sparking up and popping out.
Keep in mind the rapid falloff of light. With this last face, the chin needs to be somewhat darker. Awesome for 25 min though - you work nice and fast.
keep em coming!
Good colors in the head, I like the green greys in the flesh.
Hey Santa - thanks for visiting my SB, I'll return the favor too and post up here. I love the fact you're doing these full scenes and I wish I could force myself to make some too. Some are working better than others. I particularly like #252 on the ship - one of the most vivid ones on this last page.
Also the B/W scene in 256 is particularly good - looks like something influenced by Marco Djkewq;rewq; however you spell his name
Good stuff, keep hacking at it man.
that one in post #252 is sweet. love how fast and loose it looks, but still maintains a good read and gesture. nice work as usual.
Where ya at Santa??
#265 I liked most of the last bunch, just like the feeling of it. Damn you've gotten much much better since the first page. Don't be like me and vanish for weeks dude. Looking forward to next update!
Thanks eveyone for the support
Brendan N-thanks. good advice. the light does look like it might be coming from above as well as the side
Slav-thanks. yea I kinda realized that. oops.
Where have I been? Well I still paint everyday to better myself... But I've also been working on UI. and I've been posting on the daily sketch forum. The daily sketch is a great place for me to start painting some things I normally wouldn't. I've also been sculpting. which is really challenging and fun for me. I also have a bunch of figure drawings to post but since kinkos costs 20 bucks to scan a 18 by 24 piece of paper... I'm not sure how to get them up here. I am open to subjestions. I will try post more often for you guys.
Great update santa !!
The third one and this one http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176146088 are really nice. The lighting and color fit well to the mood.
Sorry for taking so much time to check out your sb.
Looking forward to seeing the next update!
Great update dude, the scifi themed ones are particularly impressive!
Like you choice of colours too - my type of colours, dig it.
Don't know if I've mentioned this before (forgive me if I have) but I think you should immerse your character even more within their respective environments. Currently it feels too static - have them do something in the environment or interact with other characters. Will make for more dynamic comps and ultimately cooler concepts. I already see you going down that road with a few of these, just thought I'd mention it.
You're on the right road definitely, keep painting man!
Nice work santa! Loving the scifi pieces!

DanielC-thanks! I'm glad you liked the ship. its like the second ship I've ever drawn... lol.
Call0ps-thanks! glad to here that I improved on this update. I wasn't so sure. I felt in kind of a slump.
Brendan N-thanks. definitely good advice I will def keep it in mind.
Spats-thanks a lot!
heres kind of a straight forward design of a viking. its probably not that interesting but I might give this character another go soon.
waaa ur kick ass art spree dont stop http://www.conceptart.org/forums/att...1&d=1176146022 another pc of urs just takes my fancy love ur enviro thanks for sharing
Hi I like your style, rough and dynamic. Good battlescenes!
here's my DA account. S
and here's my sketchbook! check me out if you like concepts of soldiers and warriors of all sorts.
Hey santy great updates . I really like the robot and the ship in post 280, nice job. The blue guy lifting the weights, it looks like you just drew half and pasted his other side on? heh. still looks good the lower legs are bent a little too much they look like they are rubber.
Cool viking concept in your last post good background too. Looking forward to seeing him in action .
Hey, cool you are posting again.
Great updates man, good colors and brushwork. Don't know what else to say, i am not very helpful, but nevermind. Keep up the great work here.
Just wanted to say you are on your way
nice man, you do some good work man, newest barbarian is great. do you paint in photoshop? where do you start? and what is your key to gettting soooo many comments in your sketchbook. noone likes to look at mine lol
I like the face and the armor on this last one, color is good too, keep them coming.
Brendan N- Hey thanks!
Razorb-thanks! environments are usually not my thing. nice to hear.
KanoaRogers-thanks. yea I know that ones got problems. I did just mirror it. that was for a daily sketch I just wanted to get done.
Sonaj-thanks! I got to get back to your sb. I saw you have some great work.
Sunny-thanks! means a lot. I use photoshop. I start by just blocking in what I think should be the correct colors. then I just keep refining them. but my method changes. I will try to get a tutorial goin? I think your sb is real fun to look at. I think most of the reason people might want to comment on my sb is that I try to offer help and opinions for them as well... kind of a reciprical thing.
Bojee-thanks for stoppin by, means a lot.
I put the viking in a little action.

thanx for the tips santa. nice body of work ur building
If there's something I possibly dare to say, it's for you to work on the lower legs more. Lots of chunky boots going on, but then when you do draw them, they look like fairly straight tubes. There's a great deal of variety there too!
Cold- thanks. I have notebooks full of figure drawings... its just a matter of getting them scanned to a quality I'm ok with.
Sunny-thanks for your support. appreciate it.
dmitri-thanks. why dare to say it? your right.
been awhile... just been busy with stuff. Heres some doodles... I've really been trying to focus on value and color. I posted some under developed ones so you might have a clue to the way I work.
