What Music Videos Have Inspired You?

I searched and didn't see any thread relating to this, so I figured I'd kick it off.

I'm sure some, possibly many, enjoy music videos. I'm one of 'em. Some are just for kicks, some actually take the time to make something substantial. So, what music videos, if any, have inspired you.

Brownie points for those of you who post links (try YouTube) so we can all enjoy 'em.

The one music video that has always stuck with me in terms of look and finish has been Rain, Madonna's music video.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=srACrVG57ko

REM's Everybody hurts is unreal in terms of drama and effect.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-85u...elated&search=

Micheal J's Thriller is of course unreal in terms of fit and finish.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vKPnk0jOGfs

    The Verve's Bitter Sweet Symphony.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eJnIznSOOU0

And for all of us illustrators out there A-Ha's Take On Me was pretty amazing for it's time.

No Peter Gabriel - Sledgehammer? Aha - Take on Me?

Maybe I like those purely for nostalgia.

UNKLE - Rabbit in the Headlights is also a winner.

Do As Infinity: Shinjitsu no Uta

Utada Hikaru: Traveling (some nice stop motion animation in this one)

Smashing Pumpkins: Tonight Tonight (total sucker for silent film and vaudeville motifs!)

I'm making my way gradually through those other links - thanks for starting this thread, J!

Air - All I Need - for that big sap inside me
Sigur Ros - Glósóli - not into the music, but it's beautiful
Muse - Newborn - The video was what got me hooked to the band
Muse - Supermassive Black Hole - and I still love them so much
The Knife - Silent Shout (Promo Video) - works on a very nice level, more balanced than most videos of the type, and very inspiring
DM-Walking In My Shoes (vid) (Devotional) - the bird-woman. Brings back a lot of emotions.
DM - It's No Good - because it makes me laugh every goddamn time

I knew I was missing something. But don't start me on the 80s nostalgia, they'll ban me for spamming

Rammstein: Amerika / Links 2-3-4 / Du hast / Sonne

    Non really.
But Rabbit in your headlights is one of my favourites.
I believe certain “music” channels didn’t want to show the video, because this dude gets hit by quite a few cars, but it seemed more of a metaphor from what I seen.

Unkle - Rabbit in your Headlights

I love pretty much anything by Spike Jonze or Michel Gondry.

Oh snaps, I just found this video today.

    Goddess Bunny does it again!

Cypress Hill - Puppet Master http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v87dUyhKxjY

edit: This one too, by the masterful Floria Sigismondi. She can do almost no wrong as far as videos are concerned. Almost.

Good move mentioning Tool vids, Entroid. "Sober" was my fave in highschool. Couldn't get enough of the cute little dolls and meat pipes! Hahah!

Heheeh, 0kelvin, you like the fake mustaches too? Beastie Boys kick total ass

Oops, and I almost forgot 2 more fun ones that have the vector/engineer manual/cartoon/graphic design look to them. (Of course, I could be here all day if I don't stop now... )

    The Faint "Agenda Suicide"

    Royksopp "Remind Me"

Edited to add something very NSFW but also very amazing: Dir En Grey's "Obscure"

I was pretty young when I first saw it, and it freaked me the hell out. I love it now, but I could definently see why I found it disturbing, same with the Sweet Dreams video.

My roomie is in Ohio right now, partying with all the Family Values bands, Dir En Grey included.
