I really like the way you paint faces. The little points of highlight and the use of light and shadow.

I especially like the viking guy int Post 88. It's loose and sketchy, without being sloppy, and has a great use of focusing on the face. Do more of those!

The red devil guy is create too. I like both the color and the pencil. The guy in green is interesting. I like the flowering textures but the edge around the head is a little too hard, and his ears are a bit too unresolved.

I also like the newest guy in black. Great character expression and great painting, technically speaking.

    Good job, keep them coming!

thank you very much Beonarri! Most of my stuff will probably be painting face for a while, cuz thats what I like to do. Although I really want to get off of drawing faces, and start landscapes. The newest character is actually my version of penguin, from batman.

    Oh well heres another face.

    He's a pirate

I understand about painting/drawing what you love, since I draw a whole lotta elves.

So, good job on the recent ones.

Channin, thankyou for your kind words. I have not taken classes outside of school, I am self taught, just looking at things from life and drawing them, you learn alot that way. All of these are done completely in photoshop with a tablet, except post #93 and #95 those I sketched in pencil first.

Hey there Beonarri good to hear from you. Yes I do enjoy painting faces, and I have noticed your love of elves ha ha. Thanks for stopping by.

    Heres the grinch I guess:

Thankyou beonarri I tried to use a few different colors in that one, although I don't like the result.. oh well, more practice..

I wasted all saturday playing playing diablo 2 and at the end of the day I needed to feel productive... so this morning I drew a necromancer, one of the characters from diablo..

Some of your portraits have this strange porcelain quality. Really interesting application. To really punch it up, work more from life.

Necromancers rule all for free!!! That's a very cool incarnation. Makes me pine for the days of running or hill and dale with my army of skeletons. Laying waste to the villages of the area.

Though, the wand could be more interesting. The rock he's on too, it's somewhat uninteresting, but that doesn't matter, it wouldn't change the picture as a whole. Working it out would be a personal preference.

Do you have a Cintiq? Or, just the holder for one and a tablet?

It looks really good though. Nice wood grain and shadows and reflection.

    Good job!

Ah, I was wondering. The Cintiqs have a pen holder just like that. Nice face, he has good lighting on top of his head, but the little "flecky" highlights on the face are kinda distracting. I almost wanna connect 'em!

Good work as usual, happy holidays.

yeah.. I go a little crazy on the highlights at times..

this one is photorefed, and from memory.. First I drew it with colored pencils(which i got for xmas) while looking at the photo on the front of one of my dvds, then I drew it no ref, from memory in photoshop:

Now you're improving! Great, and keep it up. You're making strides. I really like the D2 Necromancerand the face in post 80. That game rocked, you are excused for waisting that day...

    No pain, no gain.
