    Green-eyed Hellboy!

This piece is almost done...not quite though. Could use some pointers to bring it up to the next level.

I'd say he is looking a bit old for Hellboy. His Skull seems way to big aswell and his horns give the impression that they are caved in rather than sawed of flat. Good work however on the texture, choice of colors and details on the face.

u put alot of texture on him, which is fine but with all that texture there is no need for shiny glares off his horns.

I'm a bit more put off by both horn stumps staring at us. It really flattens the head.

    Hell Geezer.

i agree with dogfood the left horn should be more angled towards the right. it would be nice to see hell boy in full. i think you should make the canvas larger and really push this painting to its full potential

Thanks a lot for the astute observations my friend. Much appreciated.

I was going for the 'carved in' look for his horns, I know the real hellboy's are flat...but i thought i'd take a little artistic liscence there just for the 'hell' of it. I was also trying to stylize his skull, exaggerate it, and make him look all super old and wrinkly. I was trying to make him more of my own creation than just a replication of what i've seen done before.

    Thanks again!

affluxing heart, dogfood: Awesome, thanks a lot. That'll be the second correction that I make...the first will be to get rid of the flares.

-ThePenciler-, Infinit: Agreed, I shall get rid of those flares! Thanks a lot.

So do you guys like the 'old' look that I gave him...or do you like a regular, younger looking hellboy with flat horns instead of carved in ones?

Thanks a lot for the input. Helps out quite a bit.

Well, Hellboy is pretty sexy. This older take wouldn't win any beauty contests, but he does seem more demonic/evil.

    Trust me

The fact that the head and face proportions being totally different completely change his "character". That's _mainly_ why.

So is that a good thing or a bad thing? Changing his character and all, I mean.

Personally I think this would be better if you got rid of the ''horns'' altogether

This isn't really reading as hellboy anyway, and the horn stumps are just distracting from the rest of the face IMO
