.:Skurai's Junkyard ~a.k.a~ The Journey to Greatness:.

Hi everyone, my name is Kevin Kihlander but I go under the nickname Skurai (or Ceresz, at other forums), I am 14 years old (soon 15!) and I live in the shy country called Sweden.

Anyway, enough chitchat let's start shall we, here are 70 or so images for you to comment and crit, most of them are a bit old but that doesen't matter, I still need to improve

I'm sorry for not using attachments but most of my images are to big to be hosted that way

    Cheers!

Lots of potential in all of these! Very playful.

As others will say, try to mix in more traditional media, and study what the 5-star guys on here are doing--- you'll see a lot of anatomy studies and pencil work in the good stuff. My favorite so far is your latest one, because you took time to tighten up some of the lines.

My only crit would be that you have many good "beginnings", but there is the feeling that not enough love and effort was put into the paintings to call them done and sign them. I counted 8 different signatures, which to me that says you're spending some thought on how you sign your work. If i were you, i would take off all the signatures, and look at all your art as a WIP, to add to, learn from and keep modifying. Don't be easily satisfied, or you'll never be a 5 star.

I know that some of artists that i'm referencing on here spend over 10-12 hours on a single painting...every week, and then i find out that they did that in COW and CHOW, and are doing thunderdomes, and visiting sketch groups... All of this, AND they have jobs and lives.

Stay humble, stay cool, and finish what you start. You'll go far.

Thanks for the comments and crits guys, It means a lot to me
And surfacemonkey I know what you mean, but I sign everything I do, even sketches and speedpaintings like these are, however that doesen't meen I consider them finished, which I don't
I am starting to finish more of my work, using everything I've learned doing these speedpaints, I am also still experementing so... yeah...
Anyway, thanks for the crit, I will try to do what you said, study the 5-star guys, and stuff.
I will also post some traditional stuff later, assuming I will get the pencils and acrylics I asked for for my birthday XD

    A 30 minute sketch I did yesterday

    Cheers!
