Excellent work, is all of this done digitally? Please could you say if it is photoshop or another program? Also, if any are done traditionally (which some seem to appear so [the sketches]) could you point out which ones please?

    Thank you for sharing.

    Arrow Sketch to Screen

Big Huge Games is excited to announce Sketch to Screen: The Art of Game Creation, an exhibition at the School of Art + Design at Montgomery College's Gudelsky Gallery in Silver Spring, Maryland. The exhibition will be open to the general public from February 19th – March 18th. Gallery hours are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. A reception will be held on February 27th at 6:30 p.m. and all are welcome to attend.

Second in a series first exhibited at the Maryland Institute College of Art’s Rosenberg Gallery in late 2006, Sketch to Screen represents the work of the talented artists of Big Huge Games. The exhibition focuses on the concept art and impressive visual imagery of Big Huge Games’ latest award-winning PC Game Rise of Nations: Rise of Legends, honored with Gamespy's 2006 award for Special Achievement in Art Direction. In addition to previously displayed works, the exhibition will feature additional selections that will be presented for the first time for public viewing. Much of the concept work and production renders from the Rise of Legends opening cinematic, created by Blur, will be on display. View YouTube vid of cinematic here.

This page of game icons is one of my favorite pieces of the show. Each one its own mini-illustration, when compiled on a single page it makes for an impressive piece of artistry...

excellent drawings! I hope that i can do sometimes something similar!
    To the game:
I love the idea of technology vs. magic in a RTS... until i have played this game:-( It is terrific! First missions were ok, but then it was always the same! boring boring and boring! And at the end - just a screen with some happy end info. If there is a sequel in the making, please make it more interesting!!!!

Anyway - I really love Vinci machines and it was wonderfull to look at it.... the intro sequence was one of the best i have ever seen.... but the gameplay - as ai said - was bad:-/

Impressive stuff! In my opinion the outlines kill the characters and enviros somewhat , but it might be my odd eyes that dont appreciate outlines.

    Great job none the less

    cool

    Thanks for sharing

I found this thread from the Bug Huge Games website.
I graduate from The Art Institute of Washington in September 2009, and I am doing some research as to what video game companies are looking for in an artist. This post was helpful
