I like this. It's quite accomplished lots of good details and the mood is right too. I just feel he looks a bit too much like an ogre rather than an orc...maybe thats just me. good luck with the contest

    Hey there!

Great picture you've achieved. Very solid work. The only thing that's kinda bugging me is that his teeth seem a bit too 'aligned'... maybe it's just me.

Anyhow, good luck with the competition!

Ironbrush didnt you do an image of a troll also. I remember something with this level of detail in the Fan Image section on Blizzards main site.

i dig it a lot, amazing style.
the teeth are too aligned though, and the legs are rather short.

Awesome, well done! Is he scratching his balls? kidding. I would add some battle scars and maybe a dead animal that he's been eating. Stick a bone in his hand with some meat on it? Cheers!

Good work but the lower legs are too short and the torso is too long. Think him when he stands up. He can even fall. He's not balanced. I liked your brush work though...

Great render, the legs look really short after the knees.

Besides the insane detail and great coloring the peice does nothing else for me. Things seem rather calm.....and well he's just sitting there!

I love the textures and details on this one. The flesh tones and the veins are great too. Looks like some anatomy problem areas in the toes and his right hand. Also the rock he's sitting on seems to blend into his right (our lleft) calf. Maybe add a shadow on the rock for more depth. Good luck for the contest, though! You've got a great chance with this!

wow. this is a pretty sweet image. I like it a lot. The textures, the skin tone, the face..all done very well.

I think the only slight problem I have is the background...especially near his legs. To me, it almost has that "Holographic" look to it. I think it's just the colors you used, the value and the ever so slight blur everything back there has.

ya know what this reminds me of? remember when you were a kid and your parents took you to the grocery store to get pictures taken? and they had that lame printed backdrop of a forest?
thats what this makes me think of. like this guys mother took him to the grocery store to get his photo taken and he isn't very happy about it. haha
i'd work on your background to make it look more like a real environment, cause right now it kida looks... well... bad...
but i LOVE the character. fucking awesome work.

what's the resolution did you used?
start from white page, or have draw on paper first?

IMHO pic looks best on a step 4, it only needs a sword.

    Pretty decent man.

IMO though, he looks a bit fat rather than burly. I would´ve had the back a bit shorter the chest broader, and a bit over-exaggerated the chest muscles.

and the teeth, I think they´re too aligned (as previously stated), and the "tusks" (dunno what to call them) should be thicker near the bottom.
Plus, he kinda looks like he doesn´t have a neck.

    like I said, IMO

but since I did´nt paint this, I´ll shut up now

    Hey man good pic.

However, how long did it take?

The sword looks strange. My eye gets draw to it and the perspective looks slightly odd. Maybe it is just me

    GL in the contest though.

    thx for share

for the second image black and white, it's a step to make dark and shine zone and after put color on?n or juste to vizualise the shapes and after, with an another layer, put the colors....

The textures are awesome... not only are the drawing skills amazing, the orc is so... I don't know.... beautiful? One of the best orc pics I've seen! Feels so "alive" without the usual action poses.
