John the one I try and post as much as I can remember and stuff that is worthy of showing. Thanks for your continuous pleasent comments
    Muchos appreciated bro.

    The Balloon
Ok here are some really fast thumbnails/sketches of a character that has been brewing in my head for a while. Hes called the balloon. He wears a skin tight latex suit and has the abilitie to control electrical forces due to his insane amount of static energy. He can also grow in size like a balloon

Fun drawings. Just a thought (and it might sound odd), but its not that obvious that the character is wearing a suit over his body, as his nipples are showing. In the small drawings you did'nt draw them in, so it looks like hes wearing a full body suit. In the last picture, at first it just looked like he is wearing just a pair of boots .

I really look the Skull too, looking forward to seeing more.

We'll ride the spiral to the end, we may just go where no one's been

Yeh I know what you mean, I think its because there are no extreme highlights which indicate the shiny surface of latex. Ill have to find some refs and see what I can come up with, thanks for pointing that out

DannySketch You know what Danny I think youve hit the nail on the head there. Most of my drawings come from my head. The only observational stuff ive really done recently are these skull studies and doing them alone seems to have helped me out. I need to get down my local pub and start drawing what I see with my own two eyes.

    WIP
This is a skull wip to go along with this skull thing im doing. I thought Id go for a simple angle for this. Theres alot more I need to do to it though im stuck in abit of a rut at the moment as of what to do. Painting seems to be my weakest point and I really need to boost it up.
Anybody got any ideas of how I can continue this painting?

    Thanks ^_^

    Rich

Introduce some darker shades and waay lighter highlights as what you have atm are hovering around mid-tones.

I loooove that greenish reflected light you have going on. My recommendation looking at the earlier version was to add some color variance, but I see you've already done that.
Since you already did that, I suggest maybe to play around with some strange brushes. Streaky, splattery, grungy brushes. Only a suggestion.

Get in there and put a light rim along the bottom edge of the cracks. That'll make them appear more 3d.

I concur with the improvement comments. the whole batch of 'em.
The skulls are great. I like the bit with the hatching especially.
I'd like to see a bunch of wicked creatures applying you're skull knowledge.
    nice stuff :.

hey! nice to have met you in oxford! looking through your sketchbook i can see a huge imrpovement in anatomy, line quality, rendering and concepts in general so well done =]

the skull is looking really good but i think perhaps you could introduce some darker shadows again

Wahoo finally updated, sorry guys ive been slacking abit latley, Need to get back into my routine.

1st page Ok here we go, the first page is just some studies from an animal skeleton book, I was being abit naughty as I never really draw from photos.

2nd page This is a small page of studies from the museum in oxford

3rd page Some life studies, I think the skull is a small mammal of some sort and the skeleton is of a seaguls. I tell you what these things stank to death

4th page I had a bit of trouble with this study, the paper qualitie is so awful it makes me want to pull my hair out... oh wait..ok eyebrows.

5th page This page was alot of fun, I thought id have ago at warping some skulls. Also the felt tip edges were inspired by asguardian

Keep pushing those darks! In most of these the values never reach past a four or five on the value scale. Try converting some of the color images to greyscale and you'll see what I'm talking about. Once you get those in there, you'll be unstoppable! Nice pencils dude!
