    Bloodstone (NoŽlle) Sketchbook - CLOSED

I just started school at Santa Monica College in CA. I took my first art class last semester, so all of the traditional drawings are from that. Most of my stuff was stolen, so it's not much, but hopefully I'll add more. I'll try to update weekly atleast. I'm sorry about the bad photos - I'm not so good at taking pictures of art, but I'm sure I'll get better at it.

So far there's an unfinished Leighton master copy in charcoal, a charcoal self portrait +20lbs, an ink sketch of one of the bike trails out here, some surreal crap in charcoal to please my teacher, unfinished still life in charcoal, and an open canvas sketch.

Wow, very impressive! I look forward to seeing more posts. The bit about pleasing your teacher was funny yet disheartening at the same time...

I'm so sorry your work got stolen! Don't fret too much over it, though: you are the goose that lays the golden eggs. Before you know it, that space under your bed will be stuffed annoyingly full of old art.

I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I think you are awesome, and I wish you the best in your endeavors, but I am tired of repeating myself, I am very busy with my new baby, and I am no longer a regular participant here, so please do not contact me to ask for advice on your career or education. All of the advice that I have to offer can already be found in the following links. Thank you.

Very cool, that Opencanvas sketch is gorgeous and the Leighton copy is looking sweet too- love how you've handled the fabric on the sleeve.

hee hee I forgot about this thread

My scanner is retarded and won't let me scan my sketchbook because it says the lid is up or something.

So in order: My first ever pastel drawing! and a glass. I hate drawing glass, so I need to practice more.
    2. Kitties, cloth, and my glasses. I can't draw with them on for some reason.
    3. A really, really bad drawing of Ben. I think he was playing a videogame and screaming at the TV. Tetris or something.
    4. Sargent copy that I'm still working on
    5. Holbein and Bargue copy that I DID AT 1 AM YESTERDAY I KNOW ITS AWFUL

    More junk

I don't know what this is or what happened to the colors when I saved it, but I'm working on it. Next to it should be the reference.

jrr - You have this amazing ability to message me ONLY when I'm doing homework/studying.

mike yamada - My birthday is around thanksgiving if you want to come down and party with Ben and I. I'm cooking this time!

    Helltaxi- see message to mike!!

    rorke - 18 x 24 inches

Everyone else - thank you for the sweet comments! My art teacher this semester is really good, so I've been really motivated and drawing atleast three hours a day. I'll start taking pictures of my homework and class assignments before I hand them in from now on.

Great work, as you know. It's very graphic, I'd like to see some more painterly, expressive studies (just to taste).

I think we all learn more and more every day about or abilities and our methods of application when it comes to art. That said I'm sure you'll learn plenty in your new class, but at your present talent and skill level, you'll be giving aide to your instructor and giving inspiration to fellow students.

Now I say, honor us with insight to your digital painting process. We might all benefit from it!
