Dreamworker, try to be more relaxed about your work. Being a perfectionist is cool and it helps but dont ever be afraid to make mistakes. I think right now this is actually slowing your progress. Your SP`s are going well but it shows you work incredibly carefull. Try and do 5 or 10 quicker ones and let it rip! Make the worst mistakes and just go go go. Afterwards your SP`s will be a lot more confidant i think. Ofcourse Im only guessing here, i could be right however. anyway, keep going! You`re pretty good at this

i'm with Banshax. your sp's are looking good, but sometimes you gotta let 'er rip. i had the same problem too, i was a little uptight- drawing just one nice thing per page. forget that! fill that page up! draw like crazy! remember, sometimes you just need to sketch- everything doesn't need to be a finished piece. mileage is the key to getting damn good- and don't worry. i know you'll get there

In orther to change subject of drawing, I iniziate this last Picture. I wish to create an android girl, sensual but dangerous, that as some weapon in the right hand.

Paolo Sanna Sketchbook ( Update )

But I'm in stall because I don't know wath type of weapon is preferible, and the breast don't convince any more. What can I do ?

    ciao

P.S. I had contrasted the image because I used 2H pencil for construction.

Wow, page 2 already. You're a machine. If you're looking for suggestions on how to work out a drawing like this android girl, my suggestion would be to do a bunch of small thumbnails first to work out pose ideas and such, before diving into a bigger finished drawing. A page of thumbnails does onders at getting the creative juices flowing.
Please stop by my new Anatomy Sketchbook and critique the hell out of it.

    Hi Crazy3dman!
    You're a machine
    ehehehe
Yes I make more small thumbnails first to work, but when I start a picture I decide that a gun, that I place in the first time, will be banal for android. moreover the breast seems has silicon!

imho i think you have the basic understanding of pretty much everything. i think youre making two critical errors thats preventing you from getting completely there.

    a) use your wrist and elbow to balance your stroke while you draw. i think youre putting far too much stress on your finger and its causing the strokes to become weak at certain points. i takes practice but its awesome.

    b) tape your paper to your drawing board. that way the drawings wont come out slanted in anyway. also make sure that the board is inclined so you wont get it too stretched looking.

apart from that i think youre pretty darn good

@Motion: many tahnks for posting in my SB!
@Optimus_Rodney: thanks a lot for the tips, I confess that I try to use the pencil in the classic manner, but I obtain a dirty sheet ( smudge the graphite ) What can i do for solving this problem ? I want to obtain a clean paper but if I pose my hand in the sheet I'll dirty it when I draw.

Some good stuff in here! I like the self portraits - I'm a big fan of faces.

Also liked the samurai style - good detailing.

I smudge graphite a lot too - put an extra piece of paper under your hand to prevent it.
