OldNoobie - Always nice of you to take a peek!

Delight - Hehe I'm glad you like them

Ubar_303 - Thanks for your words!

crazy3dman - Appreciate you dropping by. Thanks, I will.

Subsonicgerbil - It was my pleasure! Many thanks for your kind words, means a lot to me.

Weird bird from imagination. I had a blast doing this... downloaded artrage2 this morning and saw a bird painting tutorial on the site. I pretty much ignored it and thought "wouldn't it be fun to paint a bird!" - I think I learned a lot doing this cause I'm not at all familiar with painting (I think this is as close to traditional as you can get...)

    Thanks for viewing

    It's looking good Spat.
The digital painting is really coming together. Especially with those last environments.
    good stuff :.

That's a great little bird! You should hire a genetic engineer, get a ready supply of various tropical birds, and start crankin' those out as pets.

Nice (crazy) enviroments. You're definitely getting good with those custom brush combo moves!

    Keep it up!

    you are doing well,

those last paintings are nice (i like the yellow/green alley).

if i can give some advice - practice drawing/painting basic geometric forms (cube, ball, cylinder, cone) in any possible view (difrent perpspective) - use pencil and paper for making them quickly - count does matter (make a zillion of them!)

    you will see difference soon...

Cheers and thx for your visit in my SB!

keep it up man, love your hunger to learn and grow, keep it up man, great progress in the from the beginning to now. Don't stop, when you can't think of anything to draw, draw from life, people, draw from anatomy books, then back to drawing from your imagination. Keep at it. thanks for stopping in my sb. Can't wait to see more.

I spent like 40 seconds staring at the blue piece, really trippy and really cool I like the bird aswell but the legs could use a little work, all they really need is to be a bit more vertical though. Also I don't know what it is about your avatar but I really like it.

Cool stuff I can tell you're making improvements.

Hey people, sorry for dying on you. Only one exam to go haha

Even though I've been slacking with the updates doesn't mean I haven't drawn daily - here's some of that.

I actually hate my last update, all the enviros look like cheap frikkin' toy commercials. I think I'll put my emphasis on charas/studies/pencil enviros til I can actually draw something

max xiantu - Thanks for your words mate I always appreciate you taking a peek!

Beonarri - Haha that sounds like a good idea :] - thanks for the encouragement.

libor - Hey there libor! Thanks for the great advice. I'll start crankin those soon, trust me. My pleasure visiting your sb

Darktwin - I appreciate your words of encouragement mate, means a lot to me. I'm always afraid I'm not making any progress, instead I think this sb is just like one huge rollercoaster. "I discover something new -> forget it... rinse and repeat"

Kvick - Thanks for taking a peek mate! Yep, glad you like the birdie. I guess the legs are a bit wonky and the poor thing's outta balance it was a nice learning experience nonetheless and makes me think that I should study some bird feet. I have no idea what they look like o.0

Thanks for the comments, I don't know where I'd be without you

some silly excuse for not going to sleep - I might bring myself to finish this thing. Any thoughts? (it's based on the original cover art of doom in case you're wondering: http://www.at-mix.de/images/glossar/doom-cover.jpg)

ps. yeah gonna fix his left arm and that cheesy "foreshortening" if you will when I get some sleep

    That's cool.
The eyeball monster looks like one I would draw.

Very cool drawings. I like the purple oozing thing. Reminds me of the Alienist from D&D.

Hi Spats, thanks for stopping by at my SB. I like your paintings: color light and sence of depth. Your linework needs refinement though.
    Keep on going!

I'm liking how you painted in the background battle figures on the new composition. I'm looking forward to see how it develops :.

Great studies. Try not to pet your lines to much though, it seems like you rush through a drawing. Try economizing a bit, take your time, and work on those poses. Your painting, and faces are coming along very nicely can't give my oppinion on that because, well, havent concentrated on painting to much yet.

With the poses I suggest drawing people from life when you can. And, if that's not possible, freeze frame a dvd and time yourself. One of the best way to work on poses is gesture drawing, it forces you to think about the lines your putting down, so do a pose for at the most a minute then move on. Keep it up man.

The "Lancer" looks a bit too much like the one from Final Fantasy 9.

Good drawing, just resembles him...or her, whatever, I didn't like FF9.

And, I'm pointing at you in my sig (in case you hadn't noticed).

    --== cheap update alert ==--

The reason I haven't had time to update is that I've pretty much had my hands full. I was asked to do some headers for a website and some cover art for a friend's band bah. That, and I'm incredibly lazy. Bear with me!

Bartovan - My pleasure visiting your sb - thanks for the advice, I'll work more on my lines when I find some time.

OldNoobie - Thanks for the support mate. I'll get there sooner or later!

max xiantu - I'm glad you like it! Thanks for stopping by!

taves - Wow thanks for your words! 70% of the time I'm doing enviros I'm not quite sure what I'm doing I mean - I have a grand, colour-rich picture in my head it ends up boring value- and shapewise. I should get out there in the woods with a small sketchpad and a pen so I could study some shapes and perspectives.

Bonfire - Thanks for the encouragement, glad you like em!

2b BOY - Fantastic advice there, thanks for taking the time and offering me that! Yep, I am a bit impatient usually - I want to get the point across quickly but to make it look believable I suppose I'd have to draw really big and loose for a while. Also good call on the figure drawing thing. Thanks for stopping by!

Tec Thanks for taking a peek mate!

Beonarri - Been ages since I played ff9 - I looked up Freya and saw that you're right o.0 (ff7 > ff9 anytime of the day) Oh and thanks for the plug ;D

I got the feeling that I understood something new when I was doodling this - maybe I'm just imagining things, as usual.

he just may have something to do with the doom-thing I've been working on, dunno o.0

No problem! FF9 is probably the worst Final Fantasy. My personel fav is the original FFT.
Kinda scary how we remember shapes all the time, and re-use them. It happens from time to time with different artists. I end up with a character I always draw looking strangely like Sol Badguy from Guilty Gear, but without the gear head thingy...or Terry Bogard without the cap.

Love the shoulders on the grey silhouette, but I like shoulder shapes like that.

The robot with the black thingy absorbing it is cool too.

That grayscale photoshop render on the last post is dynamite.
Now you have to go back to all the old stuff and give it the new treatment

Bald Muffin - My pleasure visiting your sketchbook! Very impressive stuff there.

OldNoobie - Yeah that's just my crappy brushwork playing tricks on you mate and yeah, I redid the lower guy's feet maybe 7 times and got pissed at em so I replaced them with that black blob <- anatomy studies inbound.

Beonarri - Yup true dat mate. Thanks for the comments!

max xiantu - Hehe cheers mate

neonnik - Yeah! MX1000 rocks! And thanks for taking a peek!

    -=Old rubbish alert=-

Anyway, I was rummaging through a huge pile of old drawings and found some things I don't even remember doing! Figured I'd share them with you just for fun(sorry for huuuge dl lads)

Some newer sketches; again, sorry for the lack of quality stuff.

Those shoulders are supposed to represent molten rock haha.

I don't feel like sitting next to the computer with a stupid fever so I'll try to take a little sketchpad with me to bed... we'll see if I manage to do that o.0

Thanks for viewing lads and ladesses. I promise to myself I'll get PROPER stuff up and running within the week

I can't even remember how many drawings I did on graph paper in my Math class. I do remember that the teacher commented one time, when she was handing back our binders, that there was a lack of little drawings all over the place, like on all my other notes.

But, I think this was the same teacher who told me to stop drawing and pay attention on a regular basis.

I'll make constructive comments later, for I am sick as well, and can't think straight.
