    Nice studies brother.
Be careful on the proportions (it's something I've really been focusing on lately). There's a few methods to this, such as enveloping, using head lengths, pencil measurements .. but after experimenting thoroughly, I found you have to just make many many many measurements with your eyes. Keep going back and forth to the subject and your drawing and see if things look right. Is the torso too long? The arm too wide? Fix it on the rough or the gesture, before you put in any solid contour lines.

The studies are looking real nice, imagine how dope your already super-creative pieces are going to look soon!

@max xiantu: Yep i know man. Been working on it too lately, just trying to find methods that work best for me. Mostly i draw from mind so it's hard to check what is good and not because everything is fucked up When i use ref i find myself just drawing the picture and not thinking what im actually drawing, thus learning less. Although i found a good way to practise this, just take a pic and look at it for a sec, and draw from mind what you saw en then later check back what you've done wrong. Works for me!

    @Motion: Thank you!

HA HA I love the brain yarn.... lol... My mother makes blankets... so my first thought was... wow that reminds me of my mother... and then I realized just how messed up that thought was.

Who exactly is this minjit you ask?

I must say, you have an imagination with depth. You also have the ability to give skin a nice look. And your ability to present light is great. I like your skies and horizons. I think my favorite piece is the second. I looked at it 4-5 times before leaving here. What are those three globes of light?

I do think that you should spend more time working with models - personally I am not good enough to do anything without model reference.

Where do you get most of your inspiration for your work? I am curious as to where the imagery comes from...

    Thanks for visiting!

The globes of light, hmmm, for that piece i just wanted a second lightsource so i added these. They could be anything actually, but i think what i had in mind were those little fireflies. What did you think they were?
That's basically how i work when i do not have a clear idea on what to create. I usually start with a vague feeling i have and throw something down that represent the feeling. And add color/shapes/light to my liking giving them meaning as the painting progresses.
I myself don't really want to tell a story with what i make, but more a feeling or a mood or something in that direction.

And thank you for the kind words.
    Cheers!

    globes of light

The first thing that went thru my mind was ....fireflies. Years ago, I wrote a story and illustrated it about mankind before the fall, before sin. It had this mystical guy, a warrior-priest type character. At one point he was in a dark forest. Firefies would follow him around, giving him light...and sort of a magical presence. The whole work was, well...........not so good.

I love pieces having to do with a lush, dark forest....I don't know why. The three lights seem.....warm.....safe......friendly. Perhaps that was the bait the tree used!!!

    Nice creatures.
The anatomy is starting to come together. Throw in some studies along with all your cool creative stuff.
I like the bat monster in the upper right corner especially :.
