Thank you for the feedback and sorry for letting you wait so long!

Will - Thanks a lot for the motivational words! You're so right, i try to polish some stuff

WhiteC - Yeah i agree. Thank you for stopping by!

kinnas - Haha don't go over the top! Thank you a lot for the kind words. I really love your stuff, need to take some time to check out your sketchbook!

    FightingSeraph - Roger that

ArtZealot - Sorry for letting you wait so long with a reply, I've been pretty busy. I can't really explain much, i use about 3-4 of my favorite custom brushes, the other textures come from my texture library.
A lot is just try out and experiment with blending modes, then paint on top of it. I have a huuuge folder where i save every image i see and somehow like, often i take photographs on my own, then maybe use it for texture later.
I try to find a good way and try a lot of things, so there's a lot of chaos in my process. But usually it goes like this:
Rough image with round or chalk brush -> add some texture with custom brushes -> throw some textures on it (i use older images from me as well as photos) -> Paint again (-> texture -> paint)...and so on until I'm satisfied.
I hope that helped a little, i attached an example
Thank you a lot for your interest and kind comment!

And now... a zebra i did this for a good friends birthday, he's somehow addicted with b/w zebra stuff so he wanted a zebra with dollar signs and eventually sunglasses to hang on the wall
And another semi quick one, used lots of ref for both.

This thread was just what I needed. I'm starting on some city scapes, this gives me inspiration. You make them all seem so exciting!

I may borrow some of your palette choices. I love the creepy green lighting in a few of them.

hey dude, great stuff as always. I'm digging the planets too are they 3d?

I would really appreciate if you could explain your technique for doing all of the lights in your cities. Also I'm dying to know how to get even horizontal divisions going up a building like on these tall things:

The environmental investigation is going well, I see. You already have the suspects lined up on pristine backrounds. Zebra is reel, line, and sinker - real nice job on that.

Thanks very much for the step by step, that helps out a ton.

It looks like you are really pushing everything that can be done in photoshop, with the layer types, adjustments, etc. i could incorporate more of that business into my workflow i suppose. At any rate, in that tutorial, i actually learned alot. thanks again.

    FAST ART - Danke!

Artguy - thank you for stopping by!

wilkerson - The planets are 2D only.
For city lights, i use a combination of lots of images on different blending modes and some custom brushes. The lights are a lot from my texture library, especially dark images set to color dodge/linear dodge work well when you adjust the contrast and color. Just play around to get cool looking results, i experiment a lot with it.
The divisions were made from a simple layer with some horizontal lines and variation painted in. Then i used transform-->warp and perspective or similar to "wrap" it around the building. I hope this helps a little, i can make some pictures for that later if you want to!

Vulgar`- Haha Thank you for the motivating words sir!

ArtZealot - I'm really glad to hear that this helped you

    Josef K. - Thanks, you're very welcome!

Really great work as always, man! Been keeping up with this sketchbook for a long time now and I'm never disappointed!

Are you using PS or Painter? Seems like you jump back and forth??

Got to say, I really enjoyed flicking through your sketch book, I've seen plenty of your work over on Deviant but its been great to study your sketch book and how your work process builds up these images.

Now feeling massively inspired, the tablet's going to get a hammering these next couple of weeks!

    Thanks for sharing your stuff
