...::Figure's sketchbook!::...[UPDATE{ Da Vinci and Michelangelo studies! 9/19}]

Hey, im Chris Pariano. im 15 (since august 12th yay!) and im so excited to start my sketchbook and get some crits. this is my first post with art in it altough ive already been a slightly active poster for a while.
my scanner is at my dads house so updates may be weekly, possibly longer so just hold tight .
this first sketch is just something i did for a person on a forum. he said to just make it bear like and you can go cray! well i did!
...::Figure's sketchbook!::...[UPDATE{ Da Vinci and Michelangelo studies! 9/19}]
this is a sketch of my own character"gabriel". i could go into the background story but for now ill just say one of his arms is purposefully much larger.
...::Figure's sketchbook!::...[UPDATE{ Da Vinci and Michelangelo studies! 9/19}]
this is a concept piece for a boss of a game idea i have. his name is "diabolus minor" and is my favorite boss so far.
...::Figure's sketchbook!::...[UPDATE{ Da Vinci and Michelangelo studies! 9/19}]

crits and comments much appreciated! i have some anatomical studies that ill try to show soon.

It's because of masterbation isn't it

Nice drawings, but I agree with your friends... It reminds me of spawn

Not that it's a bad thing, spawn rocks

Very nice for your age. Don't be afraid of shading, though. ;P

Wow, this is excellent work! Don't be discouraged by the comments you get here, it's a hard audience sometimes but everyone means well!

Good job on the hand, fingers are too thin though given the rest of the hand+arm.

The character you say reminds people of Spawn reminds me of a Protoss from starcraft hehe. Keep them coming!

let me be the first to welcome you to conceptart and to say i'm glad you're not on deviantart. 90% of deviantart is a big steaming pile of anime shit, and is mostly people your age. again, welcome to conceptart, and also, i like that polarbear looking character near the top of this thread, he looks pretty cool and his hand looks great. keep it up.

Always cool to see people my age! Oh, and welcome to CA!
Nice stuff. I agree with previous crits, Plus I might suggest some lifedrawing. And if you haven't, check out Bridgeman, who has some fantastic books, and CA's very own Mentler. Keep it up!

    woo, posts.
id like to do some life studies, ive done them before just havent had the time lately. when i was assisting at an art camp i had to model, so i didnt get a chance to get in on the life drawing action.
right now im really inspired by magicman and his sb, hence the leg done in prismacolor.

i hope to soon get the "animators survival kit" and "sequential art by bill eisner" with my b-day money.

    thanks for the comments everybody.

Very nice studies! If you want quicker improvement though, do plain ol' line ones to keep in the time to do more which = more improvement.

just doing line drawings really doesnt do it for me. i cant accurately represent the form, i cant represent things coming forwards and things going backwards. but thanks for the comment.
