+The.bubble.thread+ i'm back :D
This is my second bubble on CA.org here. Why bubble? Because I'm a lifetime lurker. I don't even breathe here. So to end this madness, I'm joining your guys with this bubble.
Here are some recent drawings. They are just plain ref. studies, no fancy concept yet, but I'm working on it (hopefully). You guys see anything off, please hit me. And please pardon my awkward English, I'm working on it, too. (And I hope it's not too many pictures for one post.)
OK. I'll stop talking and get it rolling. I always talk way too much than needed.
Finally, made a custom avatar.

wow! I welcome you and your bubble to CA!
lovely studies man, I especially dig the jeans bottom ones, what refs are you using?
Anyway, dont get too caught up in drawing from photos, post some stuff drawn from life, like a self portrait for example, maybe some stuff from imagination aswell!
looking forward to more stuff man, keep it up!

+The.bubble.thread+ im back :D
hey archipelago, thanks dude. The ref. are from some secret sources not to be mentioned in public... you got it? Anyway that's just an exercise to draw subjects from different angels. As Degas thoughts, only moving shapes. When I get more confident with memory drawings, I'll show some here, but for now they are such disappointment to be viewed. I'll work on it. Thanks for the advise.
oma, you'll be happy, I promise. LOL.
Aiight, more chicks, never get tired of drawing chicks. Each time I told myself only do some gestures, but they all ended up wasting my time refining and lost the flow of gesture. Hell, screw it. I'll show them anyway. Hope you guys like it.

lol, Glad to see you here isair!
Sorry haven't gotten back to recently mate, but let me say this: your new stuff is fantastic! Form are flowing, anatomy looks much better, and your linework is coming along! Something that might help with linework is put your pencil down and start drawing, but don't lift it up, or lift it from the page as little as you can - forces you to think more about what you are doing.
Keep up the good work mate!

Mate your rendering is really going places!
Figures getting tighter by the page.

Cheers d, thanks for the tip and encouragement. I'll try it right away.
Jake, thanks man. Will do. BTW, like your avatar.
Guess I'll do another 1 or 2 pages tonight.

Love these. Great hatching!
August 13th, 2006 #12
Ulver, thanks man. Here is the last update for today.
Ivy, glad you like it. Although I found there's something off with the arm of the upper one. Shading the color of the shirt made me forget the structure of the shoulder and went way off of it.
Sepulverture, thank you. Your right with the values. I only used an HB pencil. Should have gotten more arsenals handy.
Thanks sabe. Will improve the hatching more. It's still a bit messy to me.
Not quite happy with this one, coz I kinda get bored and rushed it to the end. Damn, should never rush it. But the attitude of the last one is ok I think， although I redrew the lips like 7 times. LOL. Thats it. See you guys later.

I don't beleive there is anything uninteresting about 'messy' hatching, in fact couldn't it be seen as expressive?
Just curious, do you study at school somehwere? How long have you been drawing? Any other media>?
Thanks for the comment in my book

monotony, Thanks. Commander Keen at work.
sabe, hi, I'm really flattered that you like my hatching. Actually it comes from nowhere as first I was trying to mimic Da Vinci's hatching, but sometime I feel like following the form, but mostly I'm just smashing around LOL.
And nope, I don't study drawing anywhere (at the moment at least). I really love to have some live figure drawing sessions, but sadly there's none available locally. Maybe I'll stick with what I'm doing and do more life drawings (damn it! I must do it! tomorrow I'll do it! oh well... LOL). Tried gouache way back in school days, hadn't touched it for ages, but planning on some watercolor style with gouache or poster color or whatever can make a mass out of.
I do love your sketching styles. Will drop by from time to time if you don't mind.

d, thanks dude. As the costumes are not in the slightest my idea LOL. no credits for it though.
Bendragon, your right, will bump up a notch or two of the contrast in the future. Thanks for the advice. As for colors, I'm just starting to use, very bad at it though.
elisa, thanks. I'll beat me lazy ass to it and post more. LOL.
guitarjames, thanks man. Here comes my wacky color attempt. Just hope it's not to disappointing.
Many thanks peeps, your encouragement means a lot to me and keeps me going.
Some random doodle without ref. and a snapshot from Hard Candy. Should work hard on memory drawings as my imagination sucks balls.

d: thanks dude. drawing expression is tons of fun promised.
ulver: the reference was actually a photo taken with only flashlight, so i figured omitting everything except the skins and hair to leave a hint to the figure shape. old idea but turns out well.
evildisco: thanks. glad you like them.
oma: hee hee hee. thanks. me happy to.
sirithduriel: happy to know you like it. i'll try some different methods in the future to vary the feel a little.

Hey dude, you are definitely going places with these sketches - and your line is looking great! Your figures are always so believable, and casual, like camerashots. Awesome work man, thanx for the inspiration!
