Cool idea on your last piece, looks menacing. keep working into the colours you have now, add some more light under the nose area and ckeeks and add some reflections to those eyes.

i had to take a little break from ca.org. working late nights on a mural i just finished, finding an apartment, and doing a bunch of freelance art stuff- fashion illustration and some book illustration projects. conveniantly my scanner broke so i can't scan in any handdrawn stuff and i can't really post the work i've been doing so we only get one pic. trying to get used to wacom tablet, so did this from ref. gonna go draw for a few hours now.

man, what refference have you been drawing from...its a Hot picture, and has a real good illustrative quality to it. I got a bit lost with the tongue area, was trying to work out if the long red piece was coming from her mouth or her head, but i see it now, if u dont mind me asking whats it about?

pretty cool, although i think it would be a stronger piece if you made half of the face black as well to balance the pic out. cool stuff

Have you looked at Istvan Banyai's work? The kiss piece reminds me of one of his.http://studio002.com/news/images/image-id165-buwq.jpg

character- i dunno about that, maybe i misunderstand you but wouldn't it lose a lot of definition?
bojee- thanks, i've never heard of him. took a look at some of his stuff and i don't like any of it quite as much as that kiss picture, its really nice.

Hey Lohan. Just wanted to say thanks. I posted in the thread you made at the Lounge, about you wondering if an artist ever feels happy about his own work. I misread it and thought you were discouraged, when you replied saying you werent/ or never will be discouraged actually got me out of this slump I've been in where I personally was discouraged...Anyway, it got me thinking that me being in that whole mind set was rediculous. Even though it wasnt intentional advice, it's always great to witness people with a good attitude about what they do, it rubs off on people.
To the art. Your characters near the beginning of the page I like a lot. What really stands out is you're life drawing and gesture drawing, it shows a lot of precision with line. Hope to see more. Btw man your not a bad artist, the only bad artists are the ones who quit and never keep pushing themselves. Keep stayin humble.

I think it might be a little bit too saturated, Though Im not too sure because it could just be my monitor.
Also, I love the lines on your sketches. Very fluid.

Really like the pen gestures, I love do those myself! I can tottally realate to what you said about bargaining with the grilfriend to draw her. It's like they have ADD and can't freackin' sit still for more than 5 min. My girlfriend always falls asleep when I ask her!!!
About your logo: I definatly agree that it's too saturated. I really think it's the shadows that are bringing it down. Maybe if you made the shadows more graphic/harder, like a comic book they would look better? It would also help for printing if you/they have to. I don't think that the white smudges on the knee are working either. Why didn't you use the yellowish color you used in the torso?

Your lifedrawings always rock
about the Logo i think the monster itself is pretty cool but the text doesnt look good. it doesnt help the composition either, im not sure how to remedy it though.

YOur life class stuff is ace, it really is. The logo is nice, however i feel it could be a little tighter..some of the lines wobble which is shame because you seem to have amazing control of your linework. i think, but im not sure, that maybe the logo would benefit from a stronger and thicker outline. Keep doing your life class stuff though, your figure work is definatly your strong point.
