Awesome. I am so there. Donato and Lockwood should be sick!

This is a view of the promo cards for Art Out Loud 3. I love that these two guys have such similar sensibilities with such seemingly diverse methods.
Ticket order form to follow.

Here are the promo cards for Art Out Loud 4. (Aka: Art Out Loud Goes Mainstream.) These are three Hamilton King Award-winners, each with completely different styles. Not a night to be missed.

Seeing Gary Kelley work is one of the most amazing things I had happen when I was in school, this is a can't miss for you guys who might be on the fence about attending the second one. Add Manchess to the mix? Holy crap!!
Well actually, both events seem like a can't miss
Great to meet you this weekend Dan & Irene, and thanks for making these opportunities available.

See, it's events like these that make me realize that I live in the wrong city. To anyone debating whether or not to spend the spare change for a ticket, I've flown out from Chicago for the first 2 Art Out Louds and it was worth every penny. Fantastic set of artists there... I would have loved to see Bennett paint, but making it out to these just ain't in the cards.
Irene, Dan, Greg, you guys put on a hell of a show.

i'm definitely there.
great excuse to head to NYC again.
can't wait to see the digital demo.
anyone know if todd works in painter or photoshop?
(donato rocks too btw!)
as a side note, i'd LOVE to see jon foster do a digital demo sometime.
and man!
aol 4 with three super heavy hitters: manchess, bennett and kelley!!!
wow.
don't know if i can make that one though.
hopefully ca folks can come together a little better for the afterparty this time.
(there was only like six of us after aol 2- sorry vigostar, we tried)

I believe the bulk of Lockwood's work is done in Painter, with some adjusting etc done in PS. I'm sure someone who knows better than I can answer for sure.
EDIT: Or you can just check the FAQ on Todd's site. Painter it is...

Looks like I'm heading to New York

I hope to get out there for AOL 3. The last one was a blast. It did remind me that I never got around to posting the pictures from 2. For those that missed and are thinking about heading to this one, here are some shots to help convince you.
Dan getting ready to lay down some paint

Julie Bell getting started, painting in front of that great Rockwell on the wall!

Did you pose for this one Dan?

Jon Foster getting ready to work some magic on this beautiful drawing.

Boris getting started… at this point, he had been painting for .2 seconds

Adam Rex starting out on his Frankenstein

Julie said she took this reference, what a beautiful photo!

My beautiful wife!

Greg Manchess’ work in progress. I don’t know how I only ended up with one shot of your painting! Where you were, and the people around you, I must have not been able to get more shots. This one came together so fast!

Tons of fun and I learned a lot. I will have to see if my schedule lets me get to the next one. Definitely worth the trek from Arizona.

Lucky dog!
We'll save you a ticket. Do me a favor - just send the Society a quick email that says you'd like to reserve a ticket (how many, which event/s) and that you'll be back in September to pay and pick them up. It should be fine with them. (If they say otherwise, email me back.)

it's about time! I was bugging ya to go to the last one.
bdfoster think we can plan to take the train from New Haven again?
I'll definitely get my tickets ordered soon.
With fewer artists at each one, will there be more tickets available than last time? (I don't think anyone has already asked this...)

b-dub: Waiting on clearance for the funds (Hopefully the soon to be new job will help that) Assuming all is kosher then that sounds like a plan
Muttonhead Sean!! How're you getting down from Boston? And are you dragging any of the old Syr crew with you? I'd die if DTQuinn showed up!
Irene/Dan Is there going to be a projector set up for Todd, or all we all going to have to squeeze in to see his 20-or-so-inch monitor?
