Just starting this illustration... Im thinking for it to be what I really want it to be it will take me another month to complete.. It took me about 3 hours to do this.

Hey I have a question... how do I get my sketch thread to show up at the bottom of my comments?

Thanks You. They are not really where I want them to be at/ skill level wise... I want my stuff to be more intence... But I havent gotten there yet... And I imagine I wont be for a few more years of practice. I want to capture the actual glossiness in a tear or like the gloss of the inside of a mouth when its screaming and so one... I have been working on a few but they slowly get put on my back burner.... Its really hard to make anything really well looked after when I am working all the time on other peoples ideas of art. *sobs*

Some nice work in here man, but seriously please avoid using photoshop filters, they look cheesy and anyone can tell you used them. the best kind of ps filter is when you can't tell it's been used at all. Other than that you seem to be kickin butt. The first couple of pics in the thread are great and the african(?) lady is shaping up nicely. keep on truckin' dude.

I like the texture they can bring sometimes... and I know Ill get beaten over the head on this forum for saying that... But sometimes I just draw a sketch and dont have any time to mess around with it in PS so I make some different effects with it to make it pop out some more and go on to my actual work... Its not that I can't paint the texture myself... But F8ck I hardly have enough time to scratch my butt durring the days sometimes. I don't mind the PS effects in other's work even when I can tell. And I am still exploring the program... and all the painted peices on here are still exploring peices...and I think learning what all the effects can do is an important part of the mastering the program... I can understand why people don't like it... But I would rather you crit the pictures themselves instead of the effect over it. But whatever its not important... I am moving on to more PS painting then sketching anymore. So I guess it doesn't matter in the long run. And Dont flame me cause I have made this comment... cause honestly its just the way I feel and I have heard people before flame me because of the effects... and thats fine... But don't flame on my Sketch thread cause I am very much aware of the PS effects.

I dont think the above comment was flamming by the way... I just wanted to state my reasons. and my frustrations at others flamming comments just cause I put " a cheesy" effect on one of my sketches to make them pop a little more before I post them.

Damn, those lips are bloody amazing! Do you have a step by step on how to paint that or was that a merged file? I've the hardest time trying to render realistic lips and I like seeing what other people's process is to get an idea of what to explore.

You know I was thinking I was going to do a tutorial on making lips... I wanted to do one on the apple first... But its good to know that people want to know the step my step stuff. Sometimes I post here and I try to give the break down of the picture and then... like I look at the picture and the breakdown I gave and I think its shit... and think to myself its not good enough yet for people to learn about... I quess what I am saying is that I am still learning myself. But its good to have feed back.

Im loving you're drawings rorke, they're beautiful, great depth. I'm with W.on M. though, lay off the special effects. The ninja drawing looks great, but I'm not digging the ol' bluey. The smootching babes look great too, esp. the hair.

And I second Meli's request for a lip step-by-step. Good call!

... and hey, I've got family in P.G., nice town
