-Urgaffels not too seldom updated sketch suppository- (updated 09/08/06)
Well... Might as well get started I've been doing 3d for ages and need to get better at 2d since I want to be able to do... I dunno... cool stuff and being able to draw those cool ideas helps
Anyway, here's a compilation of lifedrawings from a drawing workshop I attended last year at VFS
A compilation of sketches from yesterday and todays travels to and from work
The chunky lady-like thing leaning over a railing is a rough idea for a scene for my female robot (I like robots...). I also have a pretty good reference for a nighttime city background. Feel free to use it if you need reference: Fucking huge Tokyo skyline montage
Lastly some cool photos from Stockholm and Vancouver
And that's it from me... for now

Thanks monkey, I'll do my best to not have my nut hair yanked...
...so here are some sketches from last nights trip home and morning trip to work (fairly happy with the back+handbag one, 5min-ish scribble of a woman at a tram stop)

glad to see you started drawing again Peter! Nice studies. I like these last ones most, where the guys are caught in the rain

Thanks Queenie, while the anatomy is off the feeling is rainy which is a good thing heh.
Here's a bunch of doodles from yesterday and this morning. Not much to write home about but there's the odd nose and stuff that didn't turn out like shit heh.

Apologies for the lack of updates today. Wrist has been hurting so I haven't been drawing much I did do some light and shadow tests but it's boring so I won't be posting it. Hopefully I'll have more interesting things to show this weekend... Just need to get some art supplies first

I apologize for the lack of updates lately, haven't really been feeling too good and my sketches feel inadequate... So I turned back to an old friend of mine that needs to be completed Here she is, for the first time with sub surface scatteringon both the eyes and the skin. Got inspired by the thread about Davy Jones over at CgTalk, need to finish this gal so she can bask in the glory of... Er... Something or other? Anyway, enough talk, here's the image

Just LOVE those facial segments. How humanly realistic are you trying to portray the facial structure?
August 8th, 2006 #22
I was going for as good as photo real back when I modeled it so I guess very realistic. It's also an exercise in texturing and mental ray of which I have some experience already... I know there's something wrong with the philtrum (Ailsa keeps reminding me >_<) so that will change. Anything else that stands out?

I'm not certain, but the eye sockets look like they're a little deep-set. The nose may need a bit of tweaking around and below the bridge. It might be the lighting, but right now it seems like the middle of the nose is flush with the cheekbone area.
Other than that, looks real neat, and I love the way the head is panelled.
