I've been trying to do some drawings again as of recently, after attending orientation at my community college, I was inspired to take Art seriously again, I
Wasn't feeling up to it, now I feel like anything is possible.

If anyone reads this, I'd really like some help with this.
I've been practicing drawing faces mainly alot lately, I don't have the money for paper, or a car to go get it, so I've been spamming on my computer, well anyway, heres the drawing.

I can't get a feel for how to paint, this is mainly values and paint study I'm trying to really go for this one, I feel like maybe a value is missing, if anyone can give me an Idea of how I need to do this, I know I seem vague, but I can't find any good info on painting digitally I really suck.

Thanks to everyone on concept art, my friends and everyone who continues to inspire me every day.

I'll be updating more, frequently, I'm going to get better!

EDIT, 7.5 was the brush size I used for almost the entire thing at 16% opacity using the airbrush tool in Painter. 1kx1k

I don't really know If I like this yet, but since I'm just experimenting right now, trying to find out how to do this stuff, I think it's alright.

Heres the final update on this, I'm going to work on something else now, I feel a bit burnt out on this.

Been doing some loomis style figure studies, and I've been trying to do some more paintings, mainly portraits because I'm still really bad and I have less to work with.

So here is my newest portrait, I used a reference, It's not done yet, It's a WIP, It should be done tonight, If I try really hard.

Thanks to everyone who views this, from time to time, hopefully some of you can give me some feedback.

I was working on this for a bit today, I'm kinda scared to finish it, I like where it's going but the legs bother me a lot.

Any help would be appreciated as always.

Here a quick portrait, kinda cartoony, mainly just to try some colors and some stuff i've been attempting.

This took about 40 minutes, I really suck at values and hair, I like it anyway, but this is basically a value study and a portrait. =)

Finished another portrait, This one was for coloring, I got a bit lost while doing it, the background is kind of inspired by Joe bluhms caricatures.

If anyone happens to see this, please crit my work, I'm trying to improve but I feel like I'm going no where, I don't really know where to start when it comes to painting digitally, everything I do looks like a cartoon.

Thanks to everyone who views my sketchbook.

Going down to Texas for a few weeks, I'm going to be drawing a lot down there, so I'll probably be updating more, I gotta work on my life drawing, but since I won't have any access to a scanner what so ever I'll try do some digitally.

I'm gonna start working on some parts of the body I have a hard time with, my proportions are killing my drawings, I'll keep doing portraits since they are relatively simple and give me some chance to work on colors as well.

If anyone checks this out, thanks a lot.

It seems like you need to adjust the settings in photoshop to make it work the way you want it. You can go into the wacom settings and change the sensitivity levels, then go into photoshop and do the same. Corel Painter is also a great program that you should look into. I always look at the way the old masters drew and try to learn from that. Good work!

I've been mashing on paper a bit lately, studying from loomis and learning to render with pencil, I will be posting up some pencil drawings but I'll have to grab my scanner from my grand mothers house.

It's been 3 years since my last sketchbook entry and I'm still bad =)

In that time, I've taken some art classes at community college.

You know to be honest, I've been playing catchup for two weeks, I've been drawing/ painting on and off for the past 2 years, I wish I stuck with it, but I've been having a midlife crisis about 10 years too early.

Now that I have given it some more serious thought, I think I'm back for good.

I spent about 4 hours tonight working on this.

I asked a friend for a character idea, he told me to draw " a guy with hands made of smoke, throwing a death Frisbee to a dog" etc.

After I finished I decided to add smoke and a dog, just for laughs.

Sorry It's been so long, It's very good to be back.

I'd also like to thank, Guy Davis (BPRD comic book artist) for inspiring me to start kicking ass, I'd also like to thank Dave Rapoza(Mr.Delicious) his website has been invaluable to me these last 2 weeks.

    I'll post more soon.

Hope people come check out my sketch book again. =(
