Nice work, but I would dare to say that alot of these sketches look like pages out of Phil Hale's sketchbook. I don't mean to be rude, you have skill, but you need to be looking at other artists for inspiration and not direct imitation. If you feel I am being truly unkind you can rip me, but I think you will learn alot more about yourself and style if you derive concepts from yourself. Now I will go run and hide (but honestly, artists need to be open to critisizm).

    Hi Spray,

well I feel like I should reply to this now.

I have a lot of inspirations man, Phil Hale is aboslutely one of them, he taught me how to construct figures quickly and effectively with the use of contours and confident lines. But then Wes burt taught me a lot about pencil rendering. hpx taught me a lot about style. coro and rick berry taught me a lot about painting. ashley wood taught me a lot about comic art, wayshak and n8 van dyke taught me a shit load about inks. and there is a hundred others... You are absolutely right to call up Phil Hale as an inspiration of mine but that is as far as it would ever go. Looking through this book to me i see inspiration from all those artists and more, I just feel to quote imitation is a little unfair, but its totally your right to say it. I am still developing as an artist but I would have liked to have thought "Eriboss" was showing through more than any of the artists I know. I obviously am not quite there yet, and so will continue to keep trying.

    Eri

So's not to waste the post totally heres just some sb wips:

and here's a sneaky little wip screeny of a piece I did for a german comic \ illustration magazine for a featured artist portfoilio \ interview article thing : (shhh!)

I will get round to replies soon but aint quite in the mood now after all that.

Sweet bra'. My intentions weren't cruel, so I'm glad you are very open-minded. I never questioned your ability. Anyway, keep producing. Great linework, as everyone has already pointed out.

yeah well im liking the fact that "arty-ness" has been added. i'm no "Phil Hale" but i know it when i see this arty-ness... or loose-creativity type creation. nice stlye. i rekon an oil painting of yours would be fab!..

heh,now that's an original idea - you emulated the textures and stuff really well, although it shows abit on the colour what's digital and what not. funny though that the traditional one is sharper you'd think it'd be the other way round.

    You're a silly bastard.

And I love your art. I really like the traditional version of the last update. It's simple and random, yet it fills the page so well and keeps the whole page interesting.

Dude, the fake painting is good, the real painting is way better. The 'wips' as you call them though are KICKASS. Seriously, such wicked imagination and the use of elements in that way just awesome dude. I say leave them in pencil as they are.

damn eriboss... you`re there! your drawings looks like you`ve 3-4 joints more than other people.. very exerted and complicated, it doesn`t look "easy". BUT together with the subjects and themes and how you draw them it looks like it`s just a contrast. how you draw looks like the opposite of the subjects you draw.. damn i hate my english..

it`s freaking, it`s not normal, it`s just eriboss..

rock on mate, i`m sure you`re an inspiration for many here!

Have you scanned some of your ink splatters to use as brushes digitally?

I hereby hail this the supreme sketchbook! This is the sketchbook that shall rule all sketchbooks to come.
Its genious. I request more terrible things happening to people. men with huge scissorheads, old fat ladies with teared up stommacs, the good stuff. in other words keep up the good draw. -ing.
