    Smile Heather's sketchbook

Hello everyone and welcome to my sketchbook.I'm new here, so I'm a little nervous about posting in these forums........I hope you will be pleased about my work; I still have a lot to learn, and this is one of the reasons why I started a thread here; comments and crits are more than welcome

Hello Heather, welcome to CA, no need to be nervous, but I understand how you feel. I remember back when I first joined and created a sb(sketchbook). Man with my first few post I was very nervous. But this site is one of my main motivations for drawings and such. There is a lot of valuable info throughout this forum, I'm still stumbling on new stuff and I've been active for almost a year now.

Good start you got going here, want to see more

Nice work! I like your cathedral drawing alot. The first image of the girl is very nice also. Honestly there's not a whole lot to crit right now. The only thing is just work on your watercolor skills. Maybe look up some techniques online or buy a cheap instructional book. Watercolors can be difficult to work with, and mastering some tricks and techniques is essential. Keep up the good work!

Nice stuff! The girl in the first picture is very nice, and I love the style. Only critique I can offer would be to work on faces. I realise you draw an animeish style, but doing a few self portraits would probably help you a lot with proportions.

Goodluck, and post more please! :3

oh man, really really good architecture drawings!
how do you keep your vanishing points so consistant when they're so far out of image, do you use more paper and a really long ruler or just eyeball it or how?

kinnas, thank you for your comment, i'm preparing myself for architecture.....hmmm.....well, in order for me to keep my vanishing points consistant, i try to mentally see where exactly they're supposed to end approximately and then i go on with my sketch.....i'm not sure i've explained it right to you......but anyway, we're not allowed to use more paper or a ruler; it's just smth you learn in time, once with the development of your imagination

Great job on the buildings, you have a knack for details.

But I've seen that first picture before. It's by Hyung-Tae Kim.

nice drawings, i think that perhaps you should mention that the first drawing of the girl is copied from Hyung Tae Kim though, just to clairify that it was not your concept
