Lots of improvement in this thread, Cwn! The still lifes are lovely, especially the cherry. Your anatomy is improving as well. The animals are my favourites. Well done. Keep it up, it's looking great.
Holy hell, I love those gestures and this last update. Your improvement has made me really jealous just now. You're really making strides.
(that table in the still life still sux dik btw)
deadred - thanks for the support gurl. I'm thinking of buying CS2. I'm using the trial version on this pear hehehe.
stark - hay thanks for stopping by, yeah I screwed that mandarin up bad. Next time.
Cookiedough - thank you for the encouragement! *hugs*
Light - dudefella! Good to see you're around lately too! Thanks for the help in irc btw. I'll fix her gigant arm or whatever you said lol. hehe I know the table is screwed.
kvick - I see. Everyone is a bit fruity after seeing my still lifes. But maybe it's cos yer half azn. :|
Hahaha, I'm going to be fruit loop soon. One still life before bed! - edit: have uploaded a 2nd pear after mins crit. Hmm, not sure if I fixed that flatness. :/ (er, can't seem to get it the same size cropping lol.)

I echo min here
That pear is awesome. There's been a lot of improvement in your painting since the tomato one and this last update! And your gestures are really nice, how long do you spend on them?
Ahh that pear's pretty baller. Just make the background less eye socket-burning white next time and you're set.
bumskee - hey dude, thanks for all the advice! Hope you are going ok in Sydney. I hear they eat azns over there.
Stark - dude, thanks for dropping by!
Idiot Apathy - Tom! You found my sb. Now I'm embarrassed. lol. Yah I'm still having trouble with clothing hehe. No real problem with PS7, just that I downloaded some (cough*your*cough) brushset and it didn't work with PS7.
Clocks - Thanks man! I spend quite a bit of time on my gestures, up to 3 minutes each. I'm still a noob at the human figure.
Light - Anze my dear, thanks for the kind words (for you at least). Yeah I still need work on the whole colour thing. It's currently still a bit of a mystery to me, in the same vein as alchemy.
OK did this today, I think I had more fun with this than doing the fruit.

Hey, I see a lot of improvement in the value / color studies lately! And that's cool. So. Yea. Asspats. And all.
Ahh, that last bird is a huge improvement. You're really getting a good grasp of color.
This last painting is pretty good so far, just some of the shading seems patchy, and the hair looks a bit odd, but should look fine when finished.
pld: NEED CRITIQUE! But BEWARE your Eyes might BLEED OUT of YOUR eye SOCKETS <---cause I really suck and haven't done shit pld:
My Sketch Book!
Look at you...growing up so fast...*tear*
amazing improvement man, keep up the good exercises, that bee bird's color is great man, I am learning color too, and I admire your effort paying on learning color, time to move my ass to do some
Hehe, first post isn't exactly an art update but I thought it was amusing...I got a package yesterday and it was fairly large:
Hmmm, now what could be in this bulky package?
Packaging overkill, perchance? :|
aagh, I did it again...forgot to reply.
John - Hey thanks...looong way to go still.
Squidmonk3j - Thanks man! I wish I could draw humans tho' :|
Light - Sometimes I dunno, it half feels like luck when things are looking 'rightish'.
RaistlinTheDark - thanks~
Stark - Don't worry...I'm as immature as ever!
Openanewworld - Thanks for dropping in! I need to practice so much more You are so many light years ahead of me!!
Fooxoo - Hey babes, thanks for the kind words!
Idiot Apathy - Nahhh, my stuff stinks still. ...and I kinda want to upgrade anyways...it's a good excuse
Texahol - How do you know if min isn't wearing a pear suit? Huh..HUH! Do you even know what he looks like? He might even BE a pear. :|
OK, a small SB update. Smoothed out the skin tones on the earlier work in progress. I don't think I want to play with the image anymore.

it looks like you are paying good attention to your linework, in particularly the outline.
my suggestion would be to start thinking about contours/topography within the outlines. you can do this with cross contour lines, texture, etc. this will help with the overall accuracy of your drawing. the more information you have on the paper the easier it is to see flaws and make corrections.
Chumps - Thank you for the tip, I am very lacking in seeing contours within the outer lines...trying harder now.
First starting off with a quick paintover I did for someone in the crit section. They never replied to it..so I have no idea if they found it helpful...
It's at http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...d.php?t=101950 for those curious. Took roughly 90 minutes. At least I learnt a few things.
It is currently unfinished, might come back and tweak it later.
Hmm, back to basics now...needing it bad.
Just some proportion studies from loomis. Looking at the 2nd page, I'm noticing a weird lean and twist to my quicker stuff...need to pay more attention.
This is probably something I need to be doing. Looks good except for the nudity! CENSURE!
The bogan beast. Nice anat studies. The hip bones look amazing from all views. Took long enough for an update. Anywho, keep sketchin away and you'll be someone someday. Maybe a girl if you play your cards right.
Keep at it!
