Well, Here we go, First post so first of all let me say Hi! Here are a few of my shots. I shoot using a Canon EOS 350D, Battery Grip etc and most of the sports shots were taken with a Sigma 70-200 f/2.8. The Macro shots were taken with a Sigma 105mm f/2.8 and anything that wasnt shot with these were shot using something else!
These shots were all taken this year at Colchester Zoo except for the Meerkat, This was London Zoo.
I am in to 3d rendering, In fact many of you may know me from www.3dbuzz.com (where I am a global moderator) but i really want to learn concept art techniques.
I work as a freelance sports photographer for a newspaper so many of my images will be sports but there are also macro, candids, landscapes and more... Comments are also welcome
Thanks for a great site. Look for more soon...

Water Drops, Just a test using the Macro lens... The liquid is tap water slowly dropped into a glass of water, I shot as fast as possible using an off camera flash, I have shots where the action is "frozen" better from a faster shutter speed but i like this one as the drops are flying off at angles... The water was coloured with food colourings and then it was post processed in Photoshop. It was lit using 3 ikea desk lamps! (oooooh marvel at my high budget!)
Water Drops. (Processed)
Cant beat a bit of Big Foot eh? This is actually Big Foot 17, Taken at the Orsett Showground, Essex. UK on an assignment for the local newspaper. Ive taken hundreds of Monster Truck shots so I expect I will be boring you with more at a later date... I have also taken quite a few Freestyle Moto X ones as well so look out for those...
Big Foot 17.
This was taken at the same event as the Big Foot shot... This is probably one of my favourite images, I had never shot motorsports before and I am very please with how sharp this is, Considering how high and fast these guys were going i sorta nailed it... sorry for blowing my own trumpet!
Seat Grab, UKFMX.
Ashley Bayes (Grays Athletic Goalkeeper) celebrates with his team mates after the win the FA Trophy at Upton Park (home of West Ham United) this year. It was the second year in a row they have won it. Again, If people are interested I have a series of these as well. Taken for a local newspaper and their website.
Yeah, I agree about the meerkat but just on the right was a horrible red plastic feeding tray
Agree with Ukanfoff on the ostrich,
Great stuff all the way, tho. Friking good start if you ask me.
If it were up to me, when shooting Glenn Athletics i woulf have gone for a small exposure. As you've already noticed the sky is over-exposed and dull in that one.
I love your photos of the animals, the eagle looks amazing. You've got some nice sports pics too.
How you caught them in action, it feels like some of them are alive.
My favourites are the eagle one, and the one with Bayes that one has a nice composition too.
On the Grays Athletic picture, I've often wondered whether it'd be cheaper to buy one of those flats and a good pair of binoculars than a season ticket for the Hammers.
I like Butterfly and Glenn Poole in particular. Glenn Poole just because of the placing of everyone and the focus.
