The last doodles and paints are really nice. Darkening some of the stuff in the rear of the painting might give a better sense of depth and pull us into the image more. It feels busy to me as well. My eyes aren't getting any rest! Ha! Keep pushing.

That oil painting is very very nice! I love how you used such a warm base, the contrast works so well.

dang, your little oil experiments are looking really nice, i really dig the last one from the woods. Sketches look good too, i would like to see some more line definition and variation though, to help bring things forward and knock things back. But thats just me.

    Keep at it!

mateja: thanks! I should probably push myself more...
metal fingers: thanks! yeah, painting from life is a lot of fun, and I think you can really see more colors from life, than from photo
slash: you can have his number, but I think if you call it you'll just get a busy signal...or maybe your voicemail
zebz: yeah, you are right about the bg, it's not quite as distracting IRL for some reason, but I was getting frustrated with the bg while painting... live and learn
mike butkus: thanks mike! yeah it's really nice to have the break from working on the computer, and painting with oils really is quite fun
chaser226: thanks! you are doing some really nice work yourself!
krato: aye aye cap'n I will have some more just for u next update
bendragon: thanks! environments are harrrrrrrd :I
iridsye: thanks! I think working with a nice warm base is kind of a cheat, but so many people do it!! really gives more of a glow when working warm to cool.
    metal mike: thanks man!
ostroponis: thanks I should draw more in the old sb, it's just it seems I'm always at the computer...
austenFM:thanks! line definition...yeah I wish I could draw man, even when I'm trying to draw it's really more like painting than drawing one of these days I will figure out drawing!!

just been doing freelance, and when i'm not doing freelance trying to relax a bit. Here's something I did inbetween jobs, just something with no purpose so I don't go too crazy. It started out as just a morning warm-up, and ...mooo mooo

Very cool man. I always love seeing your characters, great stuff. I need to do some more of my own...
Don't know if you've answered this before, but how long do single characters like that typically take you? How long did that one take you versus your more rendered/finished ones?

You have an incredible sketchbook. I learned lots from your rendering technique, and needless to say, it's a pleasure to go through this SB.
