Freekin fantastic gabo love the color and edge contrasts your playing with while atmosphere could have perhaps pushed the distance/space between the planes I think I works without it + I can't belive what you're putting out as "doodles" the amount of elements the details, props my friend!
vctr: yeah i actually added some atmosphere
cause there where some darks on that background
that where poping a lot, but maybe i should had
pushed a lot more :-S , thanks for writing victor

Hrm, your server is down gabo?
Um, I was wondering... It seems like you add noise to all of your sketches. Is that intentional? If so, why?
Love your stuff by the way, I wish I could weild brushes as you do
.
Idiot Apathy: seems to be ok now,
but dude i dont know what happens
my wife has the same hosting service
and her sketchbook thread always seem
to load the images i just dont know ill look
into it to see if i can make it less flakey
+ONE: well i dunno i guess i like the noise
effect, altough i usually just add it to this
sketches not the ones i do at the studio,
i hope it doesnt look like cheesy for you![]()
i might not have good taste for photoshop filters![]()

I think the noise is good, breaks up large areas of color and adds interest. It works best with those most photographic, especially nice when there is a mecha
I'm not sure it would work as well if it were more painterly or a photo texture, but try out soft light layers if you get curious
Keep on rocking gabo![]()
very awesome sketchbook here --- such a great understanding of color and rendered forms !
Idiot Apathy: i agree, all this sketches
have large areas of same color and it
helps break those i mean add little
variation, good point Tom :-D you a
library of knowledge
Sammy: Hey dude thanks !! ive always
liked your work and your dedication is
inspirational i remember seeing you
practice comp thumbs at austin
your work has grown to new heights

I hate you...
I must agree with one of tom's earlier crits where he said he'd like to see you tackle some more finished stuff, u know, push yourself kinda thing. Cause at the moment u kinda seem to be doing this stuff without a sweat. Now I suppose that defeats the purpose of a 'sketch' book, but yeah.
thats just a personal request though I suppose, keep rocking man!
http://www.robogabo.com/ca/exsb/archfrance_study.jpg
Mmm mm mm, wow that's cool.
Hey man, just letting you know that your perspective is dynomite. Your undustrial designs are very impressive also. I would like to see more of your character designs. From what I've seen, they look really sick.
blog: thanks for writing, well i cant come up
with any excuse except i have more fun doing
this quick ones , i spent lots of hours
on the ones i do at the office and at the end
they all look so stiff and boring to me
they loose the spark, by doing this speed ones
i wanna be able to keep it going
at a point where i just have to do mindless retouchs
that take lots of hours thats my goal,
but again ill keep your opinion in my mind all the time :-)
Idiot Apathy: thanks Tom :-D,
stop watching my crappy sketches its harmful
for your artistic senses
might hurt your eyes
cubesoflard: alright ill try push
some more characters
seems almost everybody around here
kicks my butt doing that
theres no reason
;__; ill never be as good,
again thanks for writing !!!

What you doing for work these days? We get to see another amazing Octopi dump soon?
Idiot Apathy: mmm well actually we forgot to do the last ones

a dramatic down view . . . . i should shut up![]()

Nahhhh, don't ever shut up! Write a novel each post if you have something to say, I for one love reading your thoughts.
By the way, you ever use SketchUp? Basically 3d sketching, really good for buildings I think. Google has a free version; http://sketchup.google.com/
Idiot Apathy: yeah i use that software
is very handy , actually i found the link
here on conceptart :-D
