not fancy at all, just color studies
    having the architecture book
at my side and painting a picture,
then adding a figure and tweak colors
to make it more a whole, also having the
navigation window in photoshop showing a thumbnail
view of the sketch , helps maintain
the compo in simple set of values 2 to 4 main ones

i tot we are not suppose to post any comments in here..hehe

I love this sketchbook.. the robot & human life drawing is helpful to me. I copied & drawing ur life drawing..haha

I wonder can u tell me the tools/progress u use to draw robot.. The line is so clean & the color value is impressive yet looks elegant powerful.
How do u choose ur color? Is der any theory from u? Those color study in early page is awesome.
But i got no slightly idea the purpose of studying it. More to learn!~

    Keep coming!..

    Idiot Apathy: same feeling here
when i see your updates Tom

vctr: :-D thanks Victor, and keep those
updates on your sketchbook coming !

dinodog_Jr: Hey dude, about drawing robots
i feel is the same as checking the old masters for color
what im trying to say is you got to study the masters
of robot design specially japanese authors, for color
check the masters like impressionists, drawing model kits
and toys from life will help you focus on the structure of the
robot, check also actual science or machines how can you
apply that to imagination robots, i hope i helped, but
let me know if ya have more questions :-)

vctr: no prob Victor and thanks for writing, look
    forward to your update :-)

dinodog_Jr: sounds good dude, altough like i said
i would suggest study the design from drawings of
robots but study form from something real like
a model or toy ther reason is that it will help you
with perspective construction and have better sense
of the overall parts, again best of lucks

Once you are done learning tons from these "smaller" studies - I want to see you spend 2-3 days on one, just to glimpse at your full potential. Ok, actually I just want to see it because it will be even more awesome.

wow, that's insane, looks soooo reaal! your lighting is tight, is exactly where it needs to be. :o
'small crit, if you can call it that, In the last colour one, the floor looks a bit too transparant for a floor.(but then again, the extraordinary lighting may not work if you do it diff, in the end, what would I know )

0shade0: hehe thanks for writing dude,
well i think i might have gone too far
on the transparency is just some glazing
makes for some subtle details or hue variations
    so went overboard maybe?

vctr: well i use the pen tool to do the
lines of perspective then stroke it,
you can select a brush then click on an area
pressing shift then click on another area
and it will connect the dot with a straight line :-)
