100 Pages already. It felt like just yesterday when you started this thing up and I was wondering why you weren't updating your old sketchbook. Lol

Love to see the progress and follow in your footsteps in my own sketchbook.
Beautiful paintings. The red faced guy is so striking. All of your colors are vibrant and exciting, though I missed your figures those few days. Keep it up always, friend!

    Gabe,

when you paint are you doing all of your mark making inside of selections and alpha selections?

also, i know you dont comment much. but could you give a few pointers for keeping your colors so fresh?

    Thanks guys,
For the colors, it is always easier having
reference so you can see how some colors
behave, maybe in a sunset scene the greens
might not be so punchy, having a guide helps
    keeping everything consistent.

Like many of you I am inspired by painters,
sorolla, sargent J. Jones, pyle and Wyeth
so for the portrait I tried to select my color
and brush size before placing it down on the image.

About selections, I use both the lasso and pen tool
and maybe an airbrush to paint on it, nothing fancy

i started experimenting with the lasso tool in painting. At first i thought you were crazy, but its actually quiet elegant to use. using it with layers does really give an excellent level of control.
