Howdy. Finally some sketchbook stuff. I got a new one 2 days ago. quite a nice one as well, a friend of mine handmade a couple of really slick SBs and let me purchase one from him..... shes a beaut ^^

here we go. I dont know how often Ill draw in it, usually my enthusiasm for a new sketchbook lasts about 10 - 15 pages, but dont quote me on that....

    page 1

page2 & 3 (I've been reading some of the old Kirby Thors again, man such energy.....here my failed attempt at a stylistic hommage....(on the left)

Heres two new pages out of the SB (not happy with the scan on this one.... some subtle nuances missing, making the face look worse than it is...)

btw, sorry if I don't reply to my guestbook right away...my browser doesnt load alot of threads on CA, including my guestbook :X

Here a new page. I dont really have time for this at all, but since I do most of these during smoke break on the balcony ^^

EDIT: did this (hellboy pg) during holiday.... spent most of the time on the beach or at the pool though.... so this and the page after are the only thing I did in a while.....

acrylic / gouache / ink. I know Im getting repetitive with the japanese woodcut clouds, but screw it... I just love the simple design element of 'em.

    Two-Tone (and I don't mean Ska!!)

heres some drawings, quick ones...done with marker, gel pen, and brush pen.... I scan them in and add half tones in PS. I used to be a huge moebius fan when I was younger, and he really re-invented the deadline (as in lineweight) with half tone..I always loved those drawings of his. Anyway, this isn't an effort to copy his style.... just trying to do something I'm happy with borrowing the technique.....

I'm hoping to do more of these....

Nic, you're mean and lean and probably the fanciest thing that happened to me after Karate Kid.
Wish i could draw like you.
    Hats off,

    Just devastatingly great stuff.

I don't have anything to say beyond that it's criminal, the low number of replies given so far to this thread. Absolutely love your work, and will store inspiration from this in my cheeks for later consumption.

    Super Fantastic work, person.

Awesome little sketchbook here! I love all your people with oversized rusty metal limbs. My favorite sketch of yours is probably that square-bodied crab up in post number four; I love it when real creatures are stylized well. I also like how you paint in your sketchbook. Must have some heavy duty paper, eh?
    Eagerly awaiting the next update.
