    Wakazou: Thanks

Auden100: Thanks man, we kind of ban together to motivate each other.

    Icaro: Thanks again

Koppa: Oh right, I see that now. And the lip thing is also apparent to me. Anyway, thanks for the crit. I am very appreciative of them.

Damn I like your sketchbook! Unbelieveable this is really the first time I came here.
The selfportraits are all great, and on the last page you can really see some extreme rendering and composition.
Imagine this one ( http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...ightEric46.jpg ) printed in 1x2 meters...

I'll have to check this sb out constantly for now on
Keep up the amazing work man!

Enthombed: Lol, thanks Icaro. Glad you like the storyboard. It's alot more fun with music. When I find a way to post the animatic, I will. About the sp's, I chose to do them because of the success that other artists have had doing them. Obviously Android benefited from them, and Wes Burt did 130 sp's in college. Wes said they helped him tremendously. Anyway, I work from a mirror. It makes my mind work harder. Two of the sp's I painted without looking (they're really bad ). Thanks Icaro

Maknien: Thanks bra'! Yeah, I love painting large in oils. Eventually, I'll work up the courage to do another large painting (not sp though, fuck those)

Feesh, Brendan N, and Dreamworker: thanks guys

very nice pencil work i realy like the shading and variation of line width..makes me wanna draw!

in the way of some small CC:
i do think it would be nice to see some looser gesture, while i love the charecters i do see a certain stiffness in the over all poses. this is a pretty common hurdle. and the solution i think is to do a poop-load of quick super-gestural drawings. Especialy as these charecters look ready for action!..if you have tivo...or a dvd of a favorite fighting scene (live action) freeze that favorite frame and go thumbnail crazy. its something ive been doing and it seems to yeild results fast...been a great learning tool for me so hope you find it as edumacational!

    great stuff!

    Designboot: thanks

Kingshaj: Whoa, good idea! I think the general consensus is my figures have "weak sauce" (lol). Anyway, I think too much in terms of anatomy most of the time, and neglect a healthy gesture, which is what makes drawing fun, which is why I'm making myself miserable by neglecting it . nice, but i would desaturate/darken/lighten some of the colors just cuz it looks all kinda one flat shade. i forget if i posted or not yet but thanks a ton for the tutorial on your self portraits.

Hey man, just checkin up on your SB. I think i've commented before, but yeah, i was just checkin in. I like that page of aztec warrior thumbnails toward the top of this page, they're lookin sweet. i need to figure out what the trick to those are. On that last enviro you posted, the whole thing looks sweet but the water is kind of bothering me. You might have done it on purpose but to me it looks a little too blue, and i feel like the reflections on it could be pushed a little further. Everything else in the piece looks good, even without changing the water it stands by itself as a good piece, but i feel like if it were fixed up a little it could look that much better. Keep on truckin'

i keep looking at all these self portraits!..i swear one of them winked at me..you should post one as an animated gif that in fact does that...itd scare the buh-jebus out of us.

also re: your figures...i wouldnd't over state the weak sauce assesment,
the detail and anatomy are such that when you add motion and action and wieght they will be realy somthin' i mean they are definately on the launch pad fueling. lift off is near...

secret side note re: motion shhh dont tell anyone!
    google capoiera...or here i will...

Hpslashluvr: Thanks for the crit. Still working on that one a tad

ArtZealot: Thanks bra'. The trick to the brushpen gestures is to do alot of them. Matyas and I did nearly 50 (each) of those in one night. The first 10 or 15 of them were complete garbage, but by midnight we were crankin' em out in under 5 minutes apiece. Oh, and I'll fix the water. It is pretty blue now that I look at it.

Kingshaj: Thanks for the support man, your sb is top notch btw.

Two bitches. The stewardess I made slightly butch . The Neo Nazi chick is slightly elongated and the right knee is slightly askew.

BlackBeret: Dude, I grew up on Godzilla. In fact, giant monster movies
inspire nearly all of my art, lol.

New environment. This one was painted ass-backwards, and costed me alot of extra time. Probably 12-14 hours.

Final tweeks. Thanks for everyone's input on this one. Anyway, 'vbeen neglecting this for a while. I hate letting pieces settle for too long, because I end up never wanting to rework them (or look at them for that matter). Anyway, I've got a storyboard in the works. I'm pretty psyched about this one. Should be alot of fun to see it in Premiere!

Damn dude that Sean Connery is badass! Nice work on the enviro's too. I also wanted to comment about a comment you made earlier about the dodge and burn tool. SO many people abuse it. i actually have a couple friends whom lay in flats for their colors and then use ONLY the dodge/burn tool and it drives me INSANE!!!!! So Im glad you use it sparingly, and that portrait turned out really well, great contrast.

Also what did you mean about wasting time going back-asswards on that enviro? What did you do differently from your regular process?

Feesh: Yeah, dodge and burn tool can really fuck things up fast. LOL, I only use burn tool at like 3-4%! Craig Mullens is a master of using dodge and burn. You can't tell where he does it, which is nice. Anyway, that environment was ass-backwards because after I drew it in photoshop and had it half-way painted, I realized that the perspective was fucked. So I had to correct the perspective and repaint alot of it. Probably 4 hours of uneeded extra work. Although, I've learned that flipping pieces from time to time (on the y axis) helps to show critical errors that I wouldn't have seen otherwise. Which is how I spotted this problem. Thanks for looking feesh!

    Paceboast: Thanks dude

This is a very large character sketch (probably 18" by 24")
