Only 8 entries last week...
So I decided to choose a topic which should reactivate the masses
Thanx to Tyranx for the topic idea!!!
So would this be a leviathan in an orange sea, or an orange leviathan in a sea? Hmm....
what do you guess?
niiiice... now this is a topic i can get into....
i haven't been participating because im not very good at "ass patting"
see, at my level, i cant compete with the other participants like tyranx or mike, etc, so whats left for me to do (besides practice)?
ass pat. and i suck at that.
i have sketches from the other topics, but thats about it. never went beyond a sketch.
anyway, dont mean to be a downer. i'll try and start participating again soon, i just got a wacom tablet and im dying to put it to use.
could have been 9. You closed the topic several hours earlier than your usual time. I even set a clock to Honolulu time when I noticed your theory about deadlines stated here: http://www.conceptart.org/forums/sho...0&postcount=88.Originally Posted by Fozzybar

...but the sea could be orange too?
I really would like to make a big orange splat right now in your avatar...
You know they say Titan (Saturns moon) may have a sea under its ice, and its orange. One or two of Jupiters moons are candidates for that too. And although its a long stretch, some scientists believe that with the proper combination of natural antifreeze (ammonia) and the magnetic interaction with their gas giant hosts, these moons might have liquid oceans and might have life. Hmmm.
That orange made me think of goldfish.
"Create like a god, command like a king, work like a slave."
Great topic! Love idea with orange creature law, haha
is this right.
its ok if i update my first post right? like if i paint it in ps?
Moorgoon Leviathan, Final.
The moorgoon leviathan generates a strong magnetic field and passes a bio-electric current through the seawater that sifts through its body, propelling it like a jet. Males are tuned to the planet's magnetic poles to travel in a general east-west direction, females in the opposite direction, usually. The inertia of their mass makes quick braking virtually impossible. To avoid the collision of their massive bodies, males swim much deeper than the females. Males and females spend most of their lives completely seperately. To reproduce, females must call to the males psionically. Sonic communication, typical of earth's whales, is ineffective given the depths that usually seperate the sexes. Female moorgoon leviathans come to rest and inflate the tough but flexible sac around their brains with a reserve of oxygen, activating the apporpriate neurotransmitters. The increased oxygen amplifies their psionic abilities, sending their primal mating message into the inky depths below. A male recieves the message of the female and easily locates the eggs, spawned much in the way salmon do. The orca pictured above shows the relative scale of the female moorgoon leviathan.

Sketchy WIP. I'm worried it's not quite orange enough-
Ninth: Why thank you. I like yours too. It looks like you're starting to work the orange out as a phosphorescent kind of function, like some deep sea critters have. Might be an interesting direction to go in, if it makes sense to do so, of course.
I image searched "leviathan" to sort of figure out what to veer away from, I guess. Lots of snakes. I considered a Clash of the Titans Kraken kind of creature that stood up out of the water, but when I got to the egg laying idea, that composition seemed less workable.
I was going for some phosphorescence; I hope I won't go overboard with dodged glow effects in the end. Most of the orange will probably be from the color of the creature's exoskeleton.
...giant lobsters always seemed scarier in my mind than gargantuan octopi or overblown snakes.
JakkaS... your orangeheaded fellow is reminding me of how little vitamin C I had yesterday... kekeke.

HERE IS TO A YEAR OF CHOW.
I wondered why you were celebrating 50; 52 is the big landmark!
I will try to get something in.
Ooh, this sounds interesting, I think ill try my hand at this.
Especially with some extra time this weekend.
I love sea creatures!

Jakkas if you took your creature and squeezed the contents of its head into a glass with some vodka itd make a delicious beverage.
