    "Creating Kaos"

I thought some of you would find this interesting. Its a series of short documentaries about Damon Grow, a guy I used to work for. It tells of how he's indepentantly developing an MMO between himself and a few teammates.....and the odds stacked against him. Theres 3 episodes so far. Heres the first.

Yeah, someone posted about this in the Moviegamemusic forum.

The biggest shame is that if he'd been developing a game he had a chance in hell of completing, he'd be set. He's getting a ton of publicity, but the game is never going to get off the ground. WoW beat all the other MMO's with a giant mountain of money, and you're not going to beat them at their own game unless your mountain is much bigger. If you don't have a mountain of money, you better be doing something extremely clever with your game. By all indications, they aren't.

If they make an MMORPG where you can kill another person anywhere, anytime without having to "hostile them in town" and take their stuff, I would buy it immediately.

In this game you're pretty much supposed to.

Well It's good to have goals... even unrealistic goals. But He's sure sacrificing a hell of a lot for this obsession of his. His wife up's and leaves him with his newborn son... I mean c'mon... wouldn't that send a signal to your brain that something ain't right. He makes it out so that he's doing all of this for his son, but it all seems a little Loser-ish to me, and I don't need his "boohoo" story.

Good luck man. Hope you can pull it off. Whether you pull it off or not though how much is it worth in the end? I'd take the wife and kid over petty accomplishments any day.
