Those are some tasty sculptures! Om nom nom. Solid figure studies as well. Regarding that last character design you posted, the neck looks a little long to me, if you're interested in "normal" proportions.

I'm curious to know if you can relate how sculpture has helped inform your drawing. I've never done sculpture before, but I hear it's tremendously helpful.

    Keep up the good work!

friendly - thanks! sculpture has been probably the most helpful method of studying form for me. the program at my school is very classical and involves a lot of measuring, so it really helps to break my misconceptions about proportion, gesture, etc. You can make up stuff on a drawing and have it look okay, but you can't do that with sculpture. I also think I took to it more naturally than drawing, and now it's my preferred method of art making I highly recommend sculpture~

hey man those figures are looking really nice! great gesture and values. I just noticed you were going to LCAD. funny I was at a coffee shop last night drawing people during open mic and this guys sitting behind me says "hey have you ever considered art school?" and then he gives me his card and says something about taking some classes. I looked at the card and it turns out he is the vice president. lol. I've never really been to the school though. how do you like it?

shyamshiram - thanks! I will probably start posting again in a few weeks... busy with school at the moment

pennington - thanks! Haha that's funny. Personally I think it's a great school. We have some of the best teachers for fine art and game art in the area. Lots of great students to work with as well. I have some problems with the administration but i think that's probably the case everywhere. By far my favorite thing at the school is the classical figurative sculpture - you can't find that many places these days. Overall the school has a great mix of fine art and entertainment art - I think you could learn a lot here! Let me know if you have any more specific questions~

Great scupltures! Did you draw any scribbles for the lion-like centaur sculpture? I am still trying to understand how a creature could be created which has a working skeleton and muscle part to move into all positions. (see my SB page 10 for the described skeleton problem). Thanks in advance!
